Arabesque

Enhance Arabesque as an architectural and decorative elements into the space. Use of screens and dividers that create the sense of transparency, but also provides privacy for customers who dine in.

The Courtyard

The heart of classical design. Create a sense of hierarchy and dynamic within the space.

Scenery

Middle Eastern scenery is exotic and beautiful. Bring the outside to the inside, blur out the boundary. Customers can feel they are on an actual trip to Middle East.

The Arches

Bring in the classical elements of Islamic architecture: arches and columns. Use of arches and columns to define space and rooms, it also creates a feeling of being inside a Mosque.

Dynamic Light

Create contrast and dynamic by using light. Maximize the use of natural light during the day as much as possible.

First Floor Plan

The exterior facade is created by repeated horseshoe arches and columns. By doing this, the design is throughout and has multiple layers to the architecture.

The Outdoor Dine-In experience is a one-of-akind experience that customers would have at Macera. Seating under the Arabesque screens and surrounded by multiple arches creates a feeling of limitless and transparent, making them feel like being inside but they are outside.

The Entrance to the restaurant is the heart of the place. It mimics the courtyard in Islamic Architecture. By opening it up to the second floor with the skylight above, the lighting is dynamic during the day and also night.

Standing at the Entrance, customers can see inside the restaurants with the Display behind reception and the Lounge-booth and bar to the right.

The Bar is a special view that customers can enjoy their drinks while looking at the giant wall of LED screens with moving scenery in Turkey. Integrating LED screens into the space is an innovative step in design.

As can be represented in the views, horseshoe arches are repeated throughout the space from outside to inside. By doing this, the space is emphasizes the strong elements of Islamic design that cannot be found anywhere in Gainesville and makes the International students feel like they are home while being inside the restaurant.
