Advanced Printing Facilities

This printing facility caters to digital and analogue reproduction. Analogue printing is only offered to students from the Multidisciplinary Art School who have been inducted into the printing / developing process. Analogue printing is carried out independently by students and is free of cost.

The digital printing service is open to all Shenkar students, with priority for students of the School. The outcome is of fine art quality and is fairly priced for this standard of print. For all other basic printing, it is recommended students use the inhouse Mafil facilities or outsource their needs. The facility operates by email requests, whereby students send their photos and specifications to the technician who will print them. Each student has a personal account and is invoiced at the end of each semester.

MAFIL - PRINTING FACILITIES

As well as the printing and scanning facilities at Shenkar, there are many off-site commercial printing companies around the city, all offering competitively priced services that meet the students’ academic needs, whether printing out a thesis, or a large-scale poster.

The in-house printing specialist - Mafil, provide professional digital printing services, accessible across the campuses. Supervised by the Student Union, Mafil was opened to ensure quality printing at fair prices for the benefit of the students. Prices range from 0.15 agorot - 2.50 NIS depending on the size and colour of the print.

There are 17 printers spread across the sites that facilitate independent printing, photocopying and scanning, and are compatible with a USB. Students can also print and scan from the many campus computers or use the Cloud Server from personal computers. The Printing House located on the second floor of the Mitchell Building, provides specialized services such as wide format printing, covers and more. VENTURA - ART SUPPLIES

Since 2001, Ventura - Shenkar’s beloved, on-campus art store has been providing quality materials and equipment in great supply at the students’ fingertips. The shop founder, Arnon Ventura, being once a design student himself, understood the struggle to source the essential materials - quickly and at an affordable price. After graduating, he established a successful chain of art supplies shops at the three leading design institutions in Israel.

The products stocked at the Shenkar store target student needs, offering the essentials according to each of the departments, from a wide selection of stationary, papers and drawing media, to fabrics and haberdashery, model making materials and so much more. The store is open 6 days a week with varying opening times and staffed by friendly, knowledgeable individuals, most of whom come from a design background. The staff can advise on all equipment needs, and even recommend where to go for items not stocked in the store.
