About Out Innerspace Dance Theatre
Vancouver-based Out Innerspace Dance Theatre (OIS) was founded by David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen on unceded Indigenous land of the Coast Salish peoples and has dedicated over 15 years to creating extraordinary dance experiences through uncompromising rigour and unreserved ingenuity. OIS’s creations have toured nationally and internationally for nine years. Their works have been awarded the 2014 CanDance Creation Fund, Dance Victoria’s 2019 Crystal Dance Prize and Associate Artist of Agora de la Danse in Montreal for the next three years. Entering their 18th year of collaboration, David and Tiffany are creating works for Ballet BC (Canada), Netherlands Dance Theatre 2, Hessisches Staats Ballett (Germany) and Gibney Dance (New York). Bygones has been invited to Tanzmesse (Dusseldorf), Julidans (Amsterdam) Torino Danza, Theatre Freiburg, Cinars (Montreal),
Milanoltre Festival (Milan), Canada’s National Arts Centre and venues in France, Hungary, South Korea and across Canada. TIFFANY TREGARTHEN, CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, CHOREOGRAPHER & PERFORMER
Born in Prince George, B.C., Tiffany Tregarthen’s early career began in New York and Seoul followed by two years training, performing and creating in Antwerp, Belgium. Alongside co-directing Out Innerspace and Modus Operandi, Tiffany has created a work for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens through their National Young Choreographer Competition, toured internationally with numerous companies including Wen Wei Dance, Justine Chambers, Company 605, Beijing Modern Dance Company and with Kidd Pivot for nine years. OIS has most recently premiered creations at Ballet BC and NDT2 with creations for Hessisches Staats Ballett and Gibney Dance premiering in 2023.
DAVID RAYMOND, CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, CHOREOGRAPHER & PERFORMER
Born in Penticton, B.C., David Raymond began as a tap dancer, later forming the hip hop collective Over the Influence. His early career has taken him to Brazil, Belgium, Italy, The Czech Republic, and The Netherlands before returning to Vancouver to co-create Out Innerspace. David is the 2010 Isadora performance award winner, creates video design for dance, has toured internationally with numerous Canadian companies including Kidd Pivot since 2013. OIS has most recently premiered creations at Ballet BC and NDT2 with creations for Hessisches Staats Ballett and Gibney Dance premiering in 2023.

ELYA GRANT, COLLABORATOR & PERFORMER
Elya Grant is a graduate of contemporary dance program Modus Operandi. She also attended Rubberbandance Group’s Domaine Forget, Ecole de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal and the Eastman/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Intensive in Antwerp. Elya has worked with artists and companies such as the response., Company 605, Heather Laura Gray and Karissa Barry. She interned with Out Innerspace from 2014 to 2016 and has been performing, touring and creating with the company since 2016.
DAVID HARVEY, COLLABORATOR & PERFORMER
David Harvey is a Seattle-based dance artist and educator. He studied at Interlochen Arts Academy, The Kirov Academy of Ballet and the Alonzo King Lines Ballet School. Harvey then danced for Alonzo King Lines Ballet from 2007 to 2014 and continues his relationship with AKLB School as a returning faculty member and choreographer. He has also worked with Bobbi Jene Smith, Tom Weinberger, Sarah Foster Sproull and Kate Wallich’s The YC. Harvey began dancing with Out Innerspace in 2017.
JADE CHONG, COLLABORATOR & PERFORMER
Jade Chong (she/her) is a contemporary dance artist living and working on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples. Born and raised in Steveston, B.C., Jade first found her passion for movement as a gymnast at age two. She trained at Modus Operandi Contemporary Dance Program, and since graduating, has had the pleasure of working with Company 605, Khoudia Toure, Kirsten Wicklund, and Out Innerspace Dance Theatre. She has toured nationally and internationally with Shay Kuebler Radical System Art.
AIDEN CASS, COLLABORATOR & PERFORMER
Born in North Vancouver B.C., Aiden Cass began his training with North Shore Academy of Dance, and after graduation joined Modus Operandi in 2015. Since his training with MO, Aiden has worked with David Raymond, Tiffany Tregarthen, Shay Kuebler, Idan Cohen, Mandy Moore, and Emmalena Fredriksson, as well as, many other artists in the Vancouver community. Aiden has performed and toured internationally and throughout Canada with Radical System Art and Out Innerspace Dance Theatre. @generousmess

ERIC CHAD, VIDEO DESIGN & TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
Eric Chad is an interactive projection artist and show control/integration specialist based in Vancouver, B.C. Eric’s work blends interactive elements, generative design, and live tracking into his love for natural forms, and creates work that is as fun to watch as it is to perform within. Eric’s recent credits include works with Out Innerspace Dance Theatre (Bygones, Major Motion Picture), Shay Kuebler Radical System Art (Epilogos, Feasting on Famine, Telemetry), Kidd Pivot (Revisor, Betroffenheit), Chuthis Group (-in3s-, Smile Masking, Face Her), and Joe Ink (4our). Eric received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of British Columbia.
KATE DE LORME, SOUND DESIGN
Kate De Lorme is a Vancouver-based Sound Artist and Designer. She graduated from UBC in 2015 with a BFA in Theatre Design and Production and has a certification in Audio Engineering. Kate’s work integrates immersive spatial sound landscapes, technology and sound healing and her designs are inclusive of high caliber recording and editing, composition, programming, live mixing and interactivity. She is the Co-founder of Lobe Spatial Sound Studio. lobestudio.ca
