About the Company Out Innerspace Dance Theatre officially formed in 2007 and incorporated as a Vancouver based non-profit society in 2009. It is now nationally celebrated for uncompromising rigor and ingenuity resulting in an extraordinary performance language that is both distinct and universal. Directed by David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen, OIS is a team of dedicated interdisciplinary artists who collaborate to make contemporary, relevant, meaningful and unapologetically accessible dance. They strive for their practice as problem solvers, audience engagers, social organizers, educators, risk takers, and artists to help position important topics, shared experiences and contemporary dance at the forefront of public interest. Entering their tenth season, OIS was awarded the support of the CanDance Creation Fund for their fourth full-length creation and are embarking on their fourth national tour. www.outinnerspace.ca The OIS education programme Modus Operandi (MO) nurtures young aspiring professionals within a multi-year curriculum that provides pivotal and relevant development with leading dance experts. MO Alumni are performing nationally with over 20 companies and artists and are relied upon as some of Vancouver's most contemporary and diverse young movers and thinkers. Intensives and auditions are held every spring and summer.
