I fought for women and children as the Founder of the National Taskforce Against Domestic Violence.

I work with law enforcement to help protect families, provide a safe haven, and assist them with resources.

My passion is helping victims to understand their “rights,” and provide clothing and job readiness for families in transition.

I fought for the Equal Rights Amendment to ensure that Women receive Equal Pay for Equal Work. This legislation died in the Senate in 1982 and I reintroduced it to the House of Representatives in 2018. I fought for Marsy’s Law to make sure that rapists and abusers do not have more rights than victims.

I fought for the Voting Rights Act, making the case that Georgia Republicans reshaped two state legislative districts to minimize the electoral influence of African-Americans.

I fought to create the first partnership in Dekalb County between the District Attorney’s office, law enforcement, business owners, and the faith and other community leaders in Dekalb County to combat the escalating murder rate. I fought for the Affordable Care Act to ensure that all of Georgia’s citizens can afford healthcare which is their basic human right.

We can do better, and I intend to lead the 41st district in a new direction that does less for the wealthy and well connected and more for those struggling to make it.
