RATIONALISM: TIMBER RESIDENCE

STUDIO: Architectural Construction

DATE: July 2018

PROJECT SITE LOCATION: Lake Como

PROJECT BRIEF:

The building lot is surrounded by Piazza Verdi, The gothic cathedral and the Rationalist Casa del Fascio designed by Giuseppe Terragni and is neighbored by another rationalist style building: the ULI building which sets the tone for a new rationalisr timber residential building. A rationalist style building was a great choice for a timber building as it aids the structural requirements of building with such material. The bulding includes several types of dwellings such as single floor apartment and duplexes. ALso it provides public facilities on the gf.

CO-HOUSING STUDENTS & ELDERLY

STUDIO: Design Studio

DATE: July 2019

PROJECT SITE LOCATION: Bologna

PROJECT BRIEF:

The aim of this project was to design a co-housing building that mixes

2 groups of inhabitants:elderley and students. This was done by creating comfortable single rooms for students and studios for elderly and by creating a connecting wing of shared facilities that can be used by both age groups hence encourage interactions between them. Furthermore the ground floor was designed in a way to create outdoor and indoor gathering spots for students and elderly and the public.

In addititon this design studio taught me city fabric analysis skills.
