E così, con qualche senso di colpa, ça va sans dire, abbiamo voluto dedicare la copertina di questo nuovo ABFLY al “cibo degli dei”: il cioccolato. Un modo per parlarvi, ovviamente, dei grandi maestri artigiani e pasticcieri che hanno sviluppato in Toscana l’eccellenza intorno al cioccolato, ma anche, lo scoprirete sfogliando le pagine di ABFLY, delle tentazioni gastronomiche che potranno essere vostre compagne di viaggio sia in un’Irlanda addobbata a gran festa, che percorrendo la Francia tra mercatini e shopping. Maybe it’s the chocolate valley or maybe it’s the high quality wines our region offers, but everything else seems to be getting better too! And so, feeling a little guilty, we wanted to dedicate the cover of the newest ABFLY to “the food of the gods”: chocolate. It’s a manner of speech, obviously, to describe the master craftsmen and bakers who have not only developed an excellent standard for chocolate in Tuscany, but also, as you will discover reading our magazine, gastronomic temptations that could become your traveling companions, whether you are in a decked-out-in-holiday-spirit Ireland or in France walking through markets and shopping. If you feel out of place while reading our fashion section with its new spring/ summer collections, don’t worry: you can make up for it with long walks on the coast of Versilia or skiing on the slopes on the many runs located in the Tuscan mountains.

There are also ideas for tours to learn about sculptures, cinema, and of exhibitions in Italy and abroad. The Spring/Summer 2013 Collection by Roberto Cavalli is inspired by Art Nouveau poetic decorations. Nature and its elements turn themsleves into graphic signs that Roberto Cavalli uses as prints to frame the body through an anatomic placing. The collection’s prints are entirely hand-drawn, fragmented by lace particulars, lined by deep slits and enriched by strips of pierced cut out leather.

«Sentivo l’esigenza di disegnare una collezione di abiti con i quali la donna potesse muoversi leggera e fluttuante, come se si trovasse in un’assenza di gravità, ma con la decisione che le procura il suo carattere forte» dice Alberta Ferretti per descrivere questa sua declinazione tutta contemporanea di uno stile che ha fatto della leggerezza la sua caratteristica dominante.

Tutto è mosso, doppiato, stratificato per dare agli abiti corti come a quelli lunghi la possibilità di superfici liquide, cangianti, brillanti e flut-

“I felt the urge to draw a collection of dresses with which the woman can move light and floating, like when there is no gravity, but with the resolution given by her strong character” says Alberta Ferretti to describe her contemporary interpretation of a style which has lightness as its dominant feature.

Everything is moved, doubled, stratified to give liquid, pied, shiny and floating surfaces to short and long dresses, as if they are light essences. The drawing has its origin in a moving silhouette, essentially made up of materials’ lightness. A silhouette

which can change following the female and almost ethereal movement of the woman wearing the dress. Then, following short dresses with trembling embroideries and tooled with beads of a different size and a different material, there are tunics whose surfaces made of transparent organza hide baguette fringes which become invisible. In addition, dresses whose pied and moving surface seems to float over the body, because it is held on shoulders by an imperceptible tulle support. Another fabric that defines the brightness of the surface and make the silhouette intangible is the silk shantung, used for shorts, jackets, skirts and small overcoats. The brand-new double crêpe stretch, whose technologic appearance make thin shoulder padded dresses similar to aerial sculptures that are not affected by gravity. Thus the collection heads, light and floating, towards cocktail dresses made up of doubled chiffon and over them pied effects of the surface

Così, ad abiti corti con ricami tremblant lavorati con perline di varie dimensioni e pietre dure seguono tuniche le cui superfici di organza trasparente nascondono frange di baguette che diventano invisibili. E ancora, vestiti la cui superficie cangiante e mossa sembra essere sospesa sul corpo perché trattenuta sulle spalle da un impercettibile sostegno di tulle. Un altro materiale che torna a definire la lucentezza della superficie e a rendere impalpabile la silhouette è lo shantung di seta in shorts, giacche, gonne e piccoli soprabiti.

Il nuovissimo doppio crêpe stretch il cui aspetto tecnologico rende gli abiti con le spalline sottili quasi sculture aeree che si muovono in assenza

di gravità. Così la collezione si dirige, leggera e fluttuante, verso abiti da sera di chiffon doppiato su cui gli effetti cangianti dello strato in superficie acquistano volume da quello sottostante, mentre una piccola coda svicola fugace accompagnandone e sottolineandone il movimento. Effetti di pizzo a intarsio appaiono all’improvviso a disegnare tatuaggi ondeggianti sul corpo, mentre reti di paillettes satinate imprigionano fourreau lucenti nei colori delle pietre preziose. I colori sono quelli dell’acqua: turchesi, bianchi brillanti, verde acqua marina, grigi pallidissimi. gain volume from the layer beneath, while a little tail slips away going with and emphasizing the movement. DAVID BRyAN Playing the marble piano G.V. “Il progetto Robot City vuole riportare il marmo all’uso che lo ha reso la pietra più importante nella costruzione della civiltà occidentale: quello tridimensionale.

Se pensiamo alle opere che hanno caratterizzato ad esempio il Rinascimento, troviamo nel marmo una bellezza difficilmente eguagliabile. E questo ragionamento vale anche per l’arte contemporanea”.

C’è un mix di tradizione, tecnologia e arte nell’idea che anima la passione e l’impresa di Gualtiero Vanelli, titolare di GVM e già noto alle cronache nazionali e internazionali per aver realizzato un pianoforte interamente di marmo, utilizzato dal suo amico David Bryan, membro dei Bon Jovi, in un recente concerto alle cave di Carrara.

G.V. “The Robot City Project is meant to bring marble back to its use which made it the most important stone for the building of the western civilization: the tridimensional one. Let’s think of pieces of art that characterizes the Renaissance, the beauty of marble ones is almost incomparable. And the reasoning includes contemporary art.”

There is a mix of tradition, technology and art in the idea that moves the passion and the company of Gualtiero Vanelli, GVM’s owner, nationally and internationally famous for a piano entirely made of marble, played by his friend David Bryan, Bon Jovi member, during a recent concert at the marble quarries of Carrara.

Gualtiero Vanelli l’ambiente del marmo lo ha “respirato” fin dalla nascita. Sua madre è nipote di Carlo Andrea Fabbricotti, uno dei più grandi magnati carraresi del marmo della prima metà dell’ottocento, mentre il padre appartiene ad una famiglia che da oltre ottanta anni è leader nella produzione di marmo statuario, che trova appunto il suo più nobile fine nell’oggetto di design e nell’opera d’arte. Forse anche per questo Gualtiero ha deciso di cercare un nuovo modo di rapportarsi al materiale per proporlo in maniera “pop”.

Gualtiero Vanelli has been “breathing” the air of marble industry since his birth. His mother is the granddaughter of Carlo Andrea Fabbricotti, one of the biggest marble tycoons from Carrara, in the early 1800; his father belongs to a family which has been leading the production of statuary marble, which finds its finest use in design objects or in art, for more than 80 years. Maybe that is why Gualtiero decided to find a new way to refer to the material, to present it in a “pop” style.

G.V. “Con GVM, La civiltà del marmo – ci dice Vanelli – ho voluto costruire una squadra di persone con competenze e provenienze che non derivavano dal mondo del marmo. Ero convinto che servisse uno sguardo nuovo che superasse le incrostazioni che chi lavora da 20 anni in questo settore inevitabilmente si porta dietro. In questo modo siamo arrivati, dopo qualche esperienza importante, a pensare al progetto di Robot City, che partirà a gennaio del 2013”.

G.V. “With GVM, The Marble Civilization – says Vanelli – I wanted to build a team composed of people with competences and experiences not from the marble industry. I was sure that a new point of view was necessary, a point of view that ignores the incrustations who has been working in the field for 20 years inevitably brings with them. So, after important experiences, we planned the Robot City Project, which will start on January 2013.”

G.V. “La prima opera realizzata in questo modo, Cinderella Table, solo due giorni dalla sua presentazione ad Art Basel, si è permessa un acquirente del calibro di Brad Pitt. A quel tempo, era il 2007, ero Vicepresidente dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara ed avevo spinto per andare nella direzione della robotica. Avevamo un robot solo in Accademia, ma è stato importante dimostrare che cosi si poteva fare. Adesso ci sono le condizioni per realizzare un grande progetto”.

A massive project, whose structure is designed by Ora Ito, who has been collaborating with GVM for years. It is thought to revolutionize the way of promoting marble in the international market.

G.V. “The first piece produced with the new method, Cinderella Table, just two days after its exposition at Art Basel, was bought by a famous buyer, Brad Pitt. Those days, 2007, I was vice-president of Accademia di Belle Arti of Carrara and I was supporting robotics. There was just one robot in the Accademia, but demonstrating that it was possible was the important thing. Now there is the chance for a big project.”

G.V. “Un artista potrà scegliere il marmo per realizzare la sua opera, perché magari comodamente seduto nel suo studio di New York ci potrà inviare il progetto in 3D ed a Robot City la sua opera diverrà realtà – spiega Vanelli – Ma non solo. Noi potremmo riprodurre in scala ridotta dei pezzi di autore per i collezionisti grazie al disegno originale e portare così in casa delle persone un’opera di Ora Ito, Philippe Pasqua o Damien Hirst. Solo per citare alcuni dei nomi con cui lavoriamo.

G.V. “Artists will be able to choose the marble for their work, because, maybe, while they are in their studios, in New York, they can send us the 3D project and in Robot City their ideas will become real – says Vanelli – But there’s more. We can produce on small scale art pieces for the collectors, thanks to the original drawing, and let people have in their own house something by Ora Ito, Philippe Pasqua or Damien Hirst, just to mention some we work with.”

A production line of Robot City will be dedicated to that.

La storia dell’azienda PIETRO BECONCINI AGRICOLA inizia nei primi anni 50, allorché il nonno degli attuali proprietari riuscì nell’impresa di acquistare i terreni su cui già lavorava da tempo con la sua famiglia, ma in qualità di mezzadro alle dipendenze dei Marchesi Ridolfi. Quella fu una delle prime famiglie contadine toscane ad uscire dal regime di mezzadria. Il progetto attuale inizia a prendere corpo a piccoli passi nei primi anni 90, con alcuni anni di studio territoriale, con la prima annata del Sangiovese in purezza nel 1995, con il subentro di Leonardo definitivamente a suo padre Pietro nella conduzione aziendale. Dal 1997 Leonardo Beconcini è affiancato anche dalla compagna Eva Bellagamba che ha deciso di condividere il progetto e rinunciare alla sua carriera di architetto. L’azienda oltre alle produzioni di due cloni di Sangiovese locali, di Malvasia Nera, ha individuato la presenza insospettabile a San Miniato di una pianta fantastica e dalla storia particolare: il Tempranillo.

The history of the winery PIETRO BECONCINI AGRICOLA begins in the early 1950s, to be exact when the grandfather was successful in purchasing the lands that he, along with his family, had already been working for years, but just as a sharecropper on the estate of the Marchesi Ridolfi family. That family was in fact one of the first in Tuscany to free themselves from the thenprevalent sharecropping system. The project began to take shape very slowly in the early 1990s, with local zonation research, and with the first vintage of a monovarietal Sangiovese in 1995. Then Leonardo took over the reins of the business from his father Pietro. Since 1997 Leonardo Beconcini have been working with his partner Eva Bellagamba by his side, she made the heroic decision to share this project and sacrifice her own future career as an architect. The winery in addition to the production of two local Sangiovese clones and malvasia nera grape discovered, in San Miniato, the unexpected presence of a fabulous grape variety with a particular history: the tempranillo one.

The Tempranillo wine: from Spain to San Miniato During the selections Leonardo Beconcini was making from old vineyards, he came across dozens and dozens of different grape varieties and many different clones of the most widely-planted Tuscan grapes. But one particular vine in those years truly took the breath away, and strangely it was a vine that neither the most expert academics nor the most ancient winegrowers could identify. They decided to carry out in-depth studies and at the same time to propagate this vine, using of course bud woods taken from the historic vines themselves. For about 13 years, they had been calling this vine “X,” since they could not find its origins, and from 1997 to 2003 they had been planting about 5 hectares of vineyard without knowing what grape were growing. In 2004, they chose the most expensive option, but also the one that would give the surest results: they commissioned DNA analysis of historical vines. Thereafter, they are sure they discovered something astounding in Tuscany. The result was that, upon request of Pietro Beconcini winery, the tempranillo grape was admitted to the official list of varieties permitted to be grown in Tuscany, but only in the latter half of 2009, because it had never been found before in the region.

IL TEMPRANILLO: DALLA SPAGNA A SAN MINIATO Durante le selezioni su vigna vecchia Leonardo Beconcini si è imbattuto in decine e decine di varietà diverse e in molti cloni dei vitigni toscani più diffusi. Ma una vite in quegli anni ha veramente lasciati senza fiato, e guarda caso si trattava di una pianta che nemmeno i più esperti professori universitari e nemmeno i più anziani vignaioli sapevano riconoscere. Decisero di approfondire gli studi e contemporaneamente di iniziare la riproduzione di questa pianta, naturalmente utilizzando le gemme delle piante storiche. Per circa 13 anni hanno chiamato questa pianta “ X “, dal momento che non riuscivano a capirne le origini, e dal 1997 al 2003 hanno impiantato circa 5 ettari di vigna senza sapere quale pianta stavano coltivando. Nel 2004 hanno scelto il percorso più costoso, ma di assoluta certezza, facendo fare l’analisi del DNA alle piante storiche. Da allora hanno la certezza di aver fatto una scoperta sconvolgente per la Toscana: il vitigno Tempranillo è stato inserito nella lista dei vitigni coltivabili in Toscana solamente nella seconda metà del 2009, su richiesta dell’azienda, proprio perché non ne era mai stata individuata la presenza.

Le ricerche indicano una grande percentuale di patrimonio genetico uguale al vitigno conosciuto oggi in Spagna con il nome di TEMPRANILLO, ma con le ovvie differenze dovute all’evoluzione naturale di una pianta che viene appunto seminata, e non trapiantata, in un territorio che non è quello di origine e che successivamente ha il tempo necessario (secoli) per adattarsi a questo. Come è arrivato a San Miniato? Proviamo ad andare indietro nel tempo, almeno fino al 1700, ma possiamo ipotizzare anche tempi più remoti, quando la Via Francigena, che attraversa l’azienda passando proprio di fianco al vigneto in questione, era un’”autostrada dell’epoca” percorsa quotidianamente da una grande quantità di persone, famiglie e comunità intere. La usavano o per piccoli spostamenti oppure, più frequentemente, per raggiungere Roma in pellegrinaggio religioso, arrivando da tutta Europa, dato che le due direttrici della Via Francigena arrivano una da Canterbury e l’altra da Santiago Di Compostela in Spagna.

The results of the research indicate that a high percentage of genetic material is identical to a variety known today in Spain as TEMPRANILLO, but with some obvious differences due to evolution, expected in a vine that was started from a seed and not from a cutting, and in an area that was not its original home, and that had to adapt itself later, over centuries. How came this wine in San Miniato? Try and go backwards in time, at least to 1700, but we can also imagine even more remote periods, when the Via Francigena, which passes right through the wine estate, alongside the very vineyard in question, served as the “highway of the period”, trod daily by a great number of individual travellers, families, and entire communities. They used it for short journeys or, more frequently, to reach Rome on religious pilgrimages. They arrived from all over Europe, since the two main routes of the Via Francigena start one from Canterbury in England and the other one from Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

San Miniato è stato anche nei secoli passati un luogo di culto molto importante e da sempre la sede di una importante curia vescovile, che in quei tempi deteneva la coltivazione di un’enorme quantità di terreni a San Miniato, con molti sacerdoti sparsi sul suo territorio che si occupavano di agricoltura. Tecnica di quei tempi era la propagazione della vite per seme, principalmente perché durante i lunghi spostamenti era più facile trasportare un piccolo contenitore con i semi che non un grande e pesante fascio di tralci di vite. Le ricerche storiche su questo vitigno continueranno, ma nel frattempo, il Tempranillo di San Miniato grazie alle sue peculiarità genetiche produce uve di grande versatilità, adatte a produrre vini anche da grande invecchiamento, che uniscono la notoria morbidezza del vitigno a caratteri prettamente territoriali quali l’acidità della Toscana e la sapidità e la mineralità dei terreni calcarei.

San Miniato was, in past centuries, very important as place of worship. Besides, it has always been seat of a prestigious episcopal curia, which in those days owned and cultivated a huge amount of land in the San Miniato area; many priests were distributed throughout its territory, and they supervised the agricultural operations. In those days a popular technique was spreading vines using seeds, primarily because over long journeys it was easier to carry a small container of seeds rather than a big, heavy bundle of canes. Historical research on this variety will continue, but in the meantime, the tempranillo of San Miniato, thanks to its unique genetic makeup, yields grapes of significant versatility. They lend themselves to producing wines that are quite long-lived, combining the well-known varietal smoothness with other characteristics typical of the region, namely the acidity typical of Tuscany and the savouriness and minerality of calcareous soils.

L’olio extravergine d’oliva è uno dei prodotti pregiati ottenuti nel territorio pisano. L’olio risulta essere non solo squisito (vale la pena di gustarlo crudo direttamente sulla bruschetta!) ma anche versatile.

Infatti, grazie alla spiccata personalità e pienezza di sapore, può sposarsi a differenti alimenti e preparazioni sia crude che cotte. La raccolta delle olive, fatta prevalentemente a mano, e la sapiente spremitura, realizzata con processi fisici e meccanici atti a preservare il più possibile le caratteristiche peculiari del frutto, contribuiscono a determinare il gusto armonioso e l’aroma fruttato caratteristico dell’olio pisano.

All’interno della provincia possono distinguersi quattro zone di produzione ciascuna con sapori, odori e colori dell’olio caratteristici: nella zona della Valdera e Colline Pisane i produttori si sono raccolti in un consorzio che produce tra l’altro il rinomato Olio Privilegio.

Extra virgin olive oil is one of the finest products of the Pisan territory. Besides its exquisite flavour (worth tasting uncooked directly on bruschetta!) it is also very versatile.

Its full flavour and character means that it can basically be combined with a range of both cooked and uncooked foods and preparations. The olives are chiefly gathered by hand and pressed skilfully through physical and mechanical processes to preserve the particular features of the fruit as much as possible, all contributing to determining the distinctive smooth flavour and fruity aroma of the Pisan oil.

Records dating back to the Etruscan age show that most of the “comuni” or municipalities of the province are involved in oil production. There are four production areas within the province with oils of distinctive flavour, aroma and colour: In the area of Valdera and Colline Pisane the oil producers formed a consortium that produces the renowned Olio Privilegio.

Adel Abdessemed. Le coup de tête

E’ forse uno dei momenti più discussi della storia dei campionati mondiali di calcio: la testata con la quale Zidane colpì al petto Materazzi nella finale di coppa del mondo 2006 ha fatto il giro del globo, più e più volte. E’ stato il simbolo della frustrazione francese e della sconfitta della nazionale dei galletti. Quando sembrava che l’attenzione sul fatto fosse ormai calata e il numero 10 francese si fosse riappropriato di fama e gloria, all’Arts Centre Pompidou di Parigi ha fatto la sua comparsa da alcune settimane un’enorme statua bronzea alta circa 6 metri che immortala l’epico scontro, che immortala nell’arte e nella materia un ricordo davvero scomodo per il nazionalismo transalpino.

It could be one of the most controversial episodes in the history of the World Cup: Zidane headbutting Materazzi in the chest in the 2006 World Cup Final match was watched all around the world, over and over again. The symbol of the frustration of the French players and of the defeat of the Blues. When the fact seemed to be almost forgotten and that the number 10 of the France team had got back his fame and glory, a 20 feet bronze statue which describes the epic fight appeared at the Arts Centre Pompidou in Paris.

It immortalizes, in the work of art and in the material, an uncomfortable memory for the French nationalism.

The statue is by Adel Abdessemed, who has been dedicated a large retrospective, until January, by the Centre Pompidou.

He is from Algeria, he was born in Constantine in 1971, and Zinedine Zidane is of Algerian descent too. Abdessemed has become a prominent figure in contemporary art.

His work, photographs, drawings, videos, performances and sculptures, often seen as provoking, is more elaborate than what can be seen at first glance. Objects, sensational place and events or newspapers he looks at become powerful and monumental images in front of his studio in Paris, where he places skeletons, lions and where now the bronze statue “Coupe de tête” can be found.

L’opera è di Adel Abdessemed, a cui il Centre Pompidou sta dedicando un’ampia retrospettiva fino a gennaio. Algerino come Zinedine Zidane (è nato a Constantine, Algeria, nel 1971) Abdessemed è divenuto una figura importante nel panorama dell’arte contemporanea. Le sue opere, fotografie, disegni, video, performance e sculture, spesso considerate provocatorie sono più complesse di quanto non possano sembrare al primo sguardo. Oggetti, luoghi e fatti sensazionali o giornali su cui posa lo sguardo diventano immagini potenti e monumentali nel marciapiede di fronte al suo studio di Parigi, dove colloca scheletri, leoni e adesso la statua in bronzo “Coupe de tête”.

E se la polemica è già partita, con la richiesta di rimozione della statua da parte dell’Association Nationale des Presidents de Districts de Football, non c’è dubbio che l’opera immortali uno dei momenti più importanti dell’ultimo decennio, ovviamente sotto il profilo sportivo: in fondo anche l’atleta dai piedi sopraffini si è lasciato andare a uno sfogo fisico e l’atto fermato nel bronzo, con grande perizia e dovizia di particolari, in fondo non si discosta molto dalle classiche rappresentazioni degli agoni sportivi degli antichi greci e romani o dalle immortali scene di guerre.

Eccoli lì, Zidane e Materazzi in uno scontro gladiatorio da cui dipende la sorte, calcistica, di una nazione. L’opera rappresenta certamente un grande sforzo sotto il profilo artistico, in cui il movimento è fermato nell’attimo stesso del colpo inferto: Zidane colpisce, Materazzi è scosso è crolla.

La scelta di immortalare l’immediato istante dopo il fatto rappresenta l’impossibilità del ritorno, quel che è fatto è fatto, diametralmente opposto in senso temporale all’amore, alla statua di Amore e Psiche di Canova. In Canova rimane sospeso l’attimo del bacio che prelude all’amore di due corpi plastici e sinuosi, in Abdessemed l’attimo c’è stato, e rimane sospesa la caduta nello spasmo di un corpo ferito, mentre quello di Zidane è inarcato, la tensione vibra dalle scarpette fino alla testa.

There they are, Zidane and Materazzi in their gladiatorial fight which will decide the fate, the football one, of their nation. The sculpture represents a great effort from the point of view of art, in it, the movement stops in the right moment after the blow: Zidane has just hit Materazzi, which is shaken up and falls.

The choice of representing the moment after the blow means that there is no chance of coming back, what’s done is done, diametrically opposed to love in a temporal sense, to the statue Cupid an Psyche by Canova. In Canova what is suspended is the moment of the kiss that anticipates the love of two plastic and sinuous bodies; in Abdessemed the moment has happened, and it is the spasm and the fall of a wounded body that is frozen, while Zidane’s is bowed, tension vibrates from boots to head.

No doubt at all, the piece of art, in its realism, has been made by a skilful hand. Thanks to the workshops of the Studi d’Arte Cave Michelangelo in Carrara, directed by Luciano Massari, with their long experience. The statue was born there, in the rooms where since always marble has became art and culture.

Non c’è dubbio, l’opera nel suo realismo è stata realizzata con grande maestria. Ed è anche grazie all’altissima esperienza dei laboratori Studi d’Arte Cave Michelangelo a Carrara diretti da Luciano Massari.

La grande opera ha visto la sua nascita all’interno di quegli studi dove il marmo da sempre si trasforma in arte e cultura.

From the precious and immortal white stone which inspired Michelangelo himself, to Abdessemed’s bronze there is a long history, but a short step: still they are, the workshops with their masters and their long experience, which immortalize the frame and give it plasticity and life, huge, to make eternal the shame of the French people, speaking of course in football terms.

Dalla preziosissima e immortale pietra bianca che ispirò lo stesso Michelangelo al bronzo di Abdessemed la storia è lunga, ma il passo è breve: sono ancora loro, le maestranze degli studi e la grande esperienza a immortalare il fotogramma e a renderlo “plastico” e vivo, enorme, a rendere imperituro il disonore francese, nel mondo del calcio ovviamente.

MONTIGNOSO, MASSA CARRARA Going through the Lucca seafront, in Versilia, towards the Massa-Carrara one, there is the chance of coming across the small but also pretty municiplaity of Montignoso. From the small port of Cinquale, ride up along the river of the same name, an emissary of Lago di Porta.

The lake must be visited starting from Casina Mattioli, a pink rural construction at the trailhead of the Lago di Porta ring trail.

MONTIGNOSO, A MASSA CARRARA Passando dal lungomare lucchese della Versilia a quello di Massa-Carrara si incontra il piccolo, ma grazioso, comune di Montignoso. Dal porticciolo di Cinquale si risale lungo il fiume omonimo, emissario del Lago di Porta. Il Lago merita una visita a partire da Casina Mattioli, edificio rurale rosa, da dove inizia il circuito ad anello.

Il percorso ad anello del lago (4 km circa) si svolge in parte sugli argini e in parte su sterrato, attraversando vari ambienti (canneti, boschi e prati umidi) e corsi d’acqua. Pannelli informativi descrivono gli aspetti peculiari dell’area protetta.

The ring trail around the lake (4 km) runs partly on the embankments and party on unpaved tracks, touching on the area’s various habitats (cane-brakes, woods, and wetland meadows) and its watercourses. Information panels describe salient features of the protected area.

He took up photography in 2007 being a musician (playing drums in a rock band), so the first thing he’ve interested was reporting and live photography.

Con i suoi quasi 100 km di piste la montagna toscana d’inverno è meta ambita per il turismo sportivo. Terra di tanti campioni dello sci, uno fra tutti Zeno Colò, l’Abetone è la location della Montagna Pistoiese più famosa del Centro Italia. 50 km di piste e 21 impianti di risalita, i campi da sci sono distribuiti in quattro splendide valli: valle Luce, valle Sestaione, val di Lima e valle dello Scoltenna. E per gli appassionati c’è anche la possibilità di praticare lo sci di fondo, grazie a due piste e un anello per un totale di 8 chilometri.

È un vero e proprio “patrimonio” quello della montagna toscana d‘inverno, che si è arricchito di un servizio importante per le persone disabili, che possono dedicarsi allo sci proprio sulla Montagna pistoiese grazie ad un sistema di parcheggi riservati, chalet e spogliatoi, maestri di sci qualificati e attrezzature ad hoc come monoski o dualski, che permettono completa autonomia allo sciatore disabile.

Qui, nella faggeta più estesa d’Europa, si snodano 10 km di piste di ogni grado di difficoltà, servite da 8 impianti di risalita e 10 km di piste da sci nordico. Quando la neve è particolarmente abbondante sono possibili avventurose escursioni nelle foreste del Monte Amiata, con gli sci da fondo e con le racchette da neve. Per chi desidera invece esplorare le splendide montagne della Lunigiana la stazione sciistica è Zum Zeri, a cavallo tra Toscana, Liguria ed Emilia Romagna: una vera e propria terra di confine che ammalia per l’unicità dei suoi paesaggi affacciati sul Mar Ligure e sul Tirreno. Con 3 impianti di risalita al servizio di 12 km di piste Zum Zeri è la meta ideale per famiglie e bambini.

Infine in Garfagnana gli appassionati della neve possono scegliere fra tre diverse destinazioni - Careggine, Passo delle Radici e Casone di Profecchia - immerse tra panorami che toccano le vette delle Alpi Apuane e l’Appennino. Molto interessanti gli itinerari per lo sci nordico, per circa 30 km, che dal Casone di Profecchia raggiungono il Passo delle Radici e da qui sempre sci ai piedi Piandelagotti in territorio emiliano.

Ma le sorprese in montagna non finiscono qui: potrete rilassarvi e divertirvi anche al di fuori degli itinerari sciistici, tra wellness, shopping, gastronomia e percorsi tra natura e storia.
