ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER WITH DEMONSTRATED EXPERTISE IN RESILIENT DESIGN & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT New York Institute of Technology [NYIT], Old Westbury, NY  Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.), 2013  Thesis: “[Re]Constructing the Water’s Edge”: Architecture as ‘machine’ to manage floodwaters and ecology on the Newtown Creek in Brooklyn, NY. The project was featured in the NYIT Thesis exhibition show in 2013.

2008 – 2013

Perez Architecture, Brooklyn NY, Architectural Designer/Project Manager  Assumed several roles over 3.5 years  Performed over 400 field assessments of storm-damaged homes in all 5 boroughs  Developed comprehensive scoping documents with contractors and consultants  Developed construction documents for single and multi-family dwellings that were submitted to the NYC DOB for approval and permitting  Gained full knowledge of DOB ‘e-file’ processes and procedures  Assisted with business development plans and client acquisition  Used Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, and the Adobe CS to create presentations

2013 – Present

Operation Resilient Long Island (ORLI), Long Island/NYC Co-Chair & Resilient Design Director  Co-Founded a student-led grassroots initiative focused on the long term architectural implications of rebuilding coastal towns after a major disaster. Organized and hosted the first post-Sandy global design competition. Gained interest from over 300 interdisciplinary design teams from 20 countries. 60 Finalists were chosen and the 3 winners were announced at TEDxNYIT that ORLI hosted in 2014.
