If you give a man a bad piece of writing, he will grow confused and frustrated and yell at it, shaking both fists and demanding it improve. If you give the same piece to a woman, she will mask her bewilderment and praise both the writing and its author and, if called out on her puzzlement, insist no, no, it was excellent. The problem was with me.
