Awards
Keith Stimson High Percussion Award
This award is presented to the highest scoring percussion section in memory of Keith Stimson, a former Plymouth Whitemarsh drumline member who died unexpectedly in his junior year at PW.
In 1987, Keith was attending Tech school studying Commercial Art. He loved working with other students and various school activities and was chairman of the American Red Cross Blood Drive.
In addition to band activities, he was a member of Colonial Players and appeared in his first production, The Sound of Music, as the youngest von Trapp son. He enjoyed working behind the scenes and especially loved working on the lighting for the school productions. He was the first student to program all the lighting for the 1987 spring production of the Colonial Players. Keith was a member of the rock group called “Silver Mane,” with their last performance at the cast party for the production of “The King and I,” on April 4, 1987.
When not in school, Keith could be found outside enjoying his skateboard. Before he died, he auditioned and was chosen to be a member of the Bridgemen Drum & Bugle Corps, located in New Jersey. Keith had a zest for life, people, and a strong dedication to school activities.
Adam M. Wilson Overall Music Award
The Adam M. Wilson Overall Music Award, in honor of Adam M. Wilson, symbolizes his commitment to the Plymouth Whitemarsh High School music programs, including the marching band, concert band, jazz band, orchestra, chorus, and theater productions.
Adam was diagnosed with a rare form of Lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system, at the end of his sophomore year, after having successfully auditioned for the role of Drum Major with the Marching Colonials.
He courageously fought the disease for 10 months while being home schooled during his junior year until he died in April, 2000.

Hinkel for Marching Monk
Certain emotions are ubiquitous in the human experience. They are present in every culture, in every time, and in every part of the world.
Masks! expresses three such emotions excitement, serenity, and rage in their most abstract, primal forms. Each movement is dedicated to one of these emotions…to reflect and express them on the marching band field using symbolic forms creating a musical and visual impact.
