What's Holding Texas Back?

The Childcare Crisis

Center-based infant care cost of over $11,000 annually absorbs 12.5% of the median family income in Dallas County.

Healthcare Access & Affordability

Texas has the highest percentage of uninsured women in the nation at 17%.

Over 43,000 young mothers in Dallas County are sidelined from the workforce due to lack of childcare.

Gender Wage Disparity

Women in Texas earn just 83 cents for every dollar earned by men.

$750,000 lost in lifetime earnings for working women.

The Leadership Gap

Women occupy only 28% of top executive positions in the state despite earning the majority of degrees.

1 in 4 full-time, year-round working women do not have health insurance.

The Education Penalty

Texas women with graduate and professional degrees still earn $37,000 less annually than men. Closing this gap would add $33 billion to Texas' economy each year.

The Bottom Line: Texas loses billions in earnings and productivity each year.

Women are the future of Texas' workforce. They represent 46% today and will make up half by 2040.

Together, we can close these gaps and build a stronger and more vibrant Texas for all.
