Hucho hucho hucho Hucho, or Danube salmon, is a fierce predator, incredibly powerful and tough to catch, symbolising the great cold rivers of Central and Eastern Europe. It lives in oxygenated, clean waters with gravelly riverbeds. It feeds mainly on fish, but will also eat small aquatic mammals, demonstrating sophisticated hunting strategies. It has a slender and powerful body and can exceed 1.2 metres in length. What makes it special is its rare combination of strength and agility: every movement is calibrated to surprise its prey. Main fishing techniques: medium/heavy spinning.

Zander sander lucioperca Zander is an elegant and silent predator of large lakes and rivers. Native to Central and Eastern Europe, it is now also widespread in Southern Europe. Its streamlined body, silvery skin and large eyes allow it to move nimbly in deep and sometimes murky waters. It mainly hunts fish and crustaceans, even in poor visibility conditions thanks to its excellent eyesight. It usually reaches 70–80 cm in length, but some specimens can exceed one metre. Main fishing techniques: medium/light spinning.
