World Dairy Expo builds on last year’s 50th anniversary event New restaurant, Friday evening dance among new attractions By Ruth Klossner Staff Writer

MADISON, Wis. – The 2017 version of World Dairy Expo will build on the successes of last year’s 50th anniversary celebration, but with a few added twists. “An exciting new attraction for this year is the addition of a pubstyle restaurant on-site ,” said Kristin Olson, WDE Media Relations Manager, said. “The Tanbark will open daily at 11 a.m. on the east end of Estrumate Pavilion. It will serve as a meeting place for attendees and exhibitors to conduct business, socialize and watch show coverage.” The Tanbark will feature a specialized menu, including hot soups and sandwiches, a farm-to-table salad bar and full bar, and will offer ExpoTV, so visitors can keep up on the Dairy Cattle Show and other activities. ExpoTV will launch a fourth channel this year, titled Expo360. While channels 1-3 will continue to cover all angles of the show ring, Expo360 will feature the Trade Show, Innovation Unveiled products and two feature news programs daily. “It’s another dimension for those who aren’t able to attend, as well as those at the show,” Olson said. “Anyone with Internet access on mobile or desktop devices can view ExpoTV coverage. There will also be TV screens located throughout the grounds.” Also blending the old with the new, the WDE Welcome Reception Turn to HIGHLIGHTS | Page 3
