Where dairy in the Central Plains comes together
Bigger, better than ever
CPDE unveiling Dairy Forward Auction By Ruth Klossner Staff Writer
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. is the place for dairy farmers to be March 27-29. It’s a time when dairy comes together at the Central Plains Dairy Expo. CPDE is entertainment and education for farmers, dairy producers and the general public all under one roof at the Sioux Falls Denny Sanford Premier Center Complex. “We invite milk producers, calf and heifer growers, beef-feedlot operators, forage growers and people working in the industry to attend,” said Olga Reuvekamp, Central Plains Dairy Association president. “This is where the central plains dairy industry gets together.” Reuvekamp is in her rst year as president of the nine-member CPDE board. “We’re a behind-the-scenes board but we’re quite active and very engaged. We come from different backgrounds and different states. It’s fun to see the board work together. I’m proud of the board’s engagement,” she said. While CPDE started in Sioux Falls, it has grown to include producers from many states and even international countries. “For the exhibitors, it’s a great way to connect with producers. It’s a very effective show,” Reuvekamp said. The expo will open Tuesday evening with the welcome reception followed by a concert by country music star, Easton Corbin, who will take the stage at 7:45.
