Where dairy in the Central Plains comes together
Looking forward to a smooth transition New staff members preparing for Central Plains Dairy Expo By Krista Kuzma

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Although this year’s Central Plains Dairy Expo is being planned by new staff members, they and the board members expect the expo to carry on in its usual successful fashion. “We went through a transition in our staff after last expo,” said Olga Reuvekamp, Central Plains Dairy Association board chair. “Lon and Kathy Tonneson did a phenomenal job, but they retired. Our new team is seasoned in event planning in the ag sector. The board is hoping for a smooth transition with the show and to continue doing what we’re doing.” The Central Plains Dairy Expo will be March 24-26 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center and Sioux Falls Convention Center in Sioux Falls. Like in years past, the event will kick off with a welcome reception and concert followed by two days of seminars and time to talk to exhibitors at the trade show. “I am very excited to meet everyone, and put those faces to the names I’m working with through email and on the phone,” said Renee Brod, Central Plains Dairy Association associate executive director. “As a planner, I always love the adrenaline rush of an event … watching it happen and watching it unfold.” This is Brod’s rst year on staff along with executive director, Kristy Mach.

Ten kiosks with tablets will be set up at the entrance. “If you preregistered online, it will take about 20 seconds for the whole badging process when you arrive at the expo. You enter your name and it will
print your badge right there at the kiosk,” Brod said. “We will still be able to register people onsite even if they haven’t preregistered online. Instead of 20 seconds, it just may take 45 seconds.” Turn to EXPO | Page 2
