THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. – For 125 years, three months and 15 days, Leonard and Marge Geske’s farm was an active dairy farm. That all changed on Oct. 15. The Geskes sold their milking herd and youngstock to Ken Bekius, 22, of Milaca,
Minn. Geske milked 42 cows in Pennington County near Thief River Falls, Minn. “We had a good run, and we did very well with it,” Leonard Geske said. “We were the longest running dairy in Pennington County. Now, there’s only one.” The dairy began with Leonard’s great-grandfather, Carl, when he purchased the farm in 1891. Since then, Leonard’s grandfather, Albert, and his father, John, have managed the farm. “I’ve been here my whole

life,” Geske said. In 1953, John Geske built the stanchion barn. “We only had 18 stalls then,” Geske said. On March 30, 1961, Geske began working with his dad while driving school bus parttime. “I never really left the farm,” Geske said. Five years later, Geske married Marge on Nov. 5, 1966.
“We’ve worked side by side on this farm ever since,” he said. In the early 1970s, they added more stalls to house 24 cows, which was right before Geske came back full time and rented the farm from his dad in 1972. “I always enjoyed the cows,” Geske said. “I saw myself doing this.” Finally, in 1977, Geske purchased the farm from his

father and began milking 24 cows on his own. Eventually, Geske added 18 more stalls in the fall of 1988. “I wanted to do that because I wanted to put in a pipeline and get put on Grade A milk,” Geske said. “I had heifers of my own that were due to calve right after I nished this project, so I grew the herd from within right away without having to buy any cows.”

As his family grew, Geske added other breeds to his herd including 10 registered Brown Swiss, three registered Milking Shorthorns and one Jersey. “My kids were the ones that started that. I never crossbred any of them. I kept them all purebred,” Geske said. “It was fun having some different breeds on the farm.” Geske and Marge have three children, Brian, who died in a corn bin accident in 1995, Gary and his wife, Lisa, and their daughter, Kayla, 7, and Nancy Larson, and her husband, Spencer, and their children, Hunter, 20, Samantha, 18, Jacey, 12, and Ty, 10. They also have a dear friend of the family, Jennifer Millons, 28, who is like a granddaughter to the Geskes, and her daughter, Brooklynn, 4. For Geske, dairy farming with his family was his dream.
“I loved running my own business and making all of my own decisions,” Geske said. “It’s something I enjoyed doing, especially with my family.” On top of the cows, Geske farmed 350 acres of owned land and 125 acres of rented land, where they grew alfalfa, oats, wheat and barley along with using some as pasture for the cows. “Towards the end, we started growing soybeans,” Geske said. “We concentrated on making hay though.” Due to the crops Geske had, cows were fed mainly hay and a small grain mixture. “We didn’t push the cows for production, but we were still getting a consistent 17,000-pound rolling herd average for 10 years,” Geske said. MADISON, Wis. – This year’s forages should help cows produce more milk than the crops of 2015 and 2014 did, said John Goeser, animal nutrition director for Rock River Laboratory in Watertown, Wis. Goeser talked about “What to look for when feeding this year’s forage” on Oct. 6 at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis. Referencing the thousands of samples that have been sent to the lab for analysis, he said that, generally speaking, those from the Midwest are of higher quality this year than during the past two years. For 2016, samples of corn silage and haylage are expected to let a cow produce 85.1 pounds of milk per cow. That number is based on a ration that includes 20 pounds of corn silage and 10 pounds of haylage per cow, Goeser said. The predicted milk production is two pounds higher than last year’s 83.1 pounds of milk per cow. And it’s three pounds above what the 2014 feed would have made. It’s a similar story for 2016 forage samples from the eastern United States There the same amounts of haylage and corn silage should produce 85.1 pounds of milk per cow, per day, Goeser said. That’s above the 81.8 pounds and 82.6 pounds of milk forages from 2015 and 2014 would have generated. Performance is expected to be similar for western forages, Goeser said; however, there the base ration is 20 pounds of corn silage plus 10 pounds of dry hay, instead of haylage. This year’s forage samples predict milk per cow at 83.4 pounds per day. That’s higher than 82.9 pounds of milk from last year’s forages, and above the 82.5 pounds of milk from the 2014 crops. Goeser said analyzing feed samples and estimating how livestock will do on them is not an exact science. “We’ve learned a lot the last few years. We’re going to continue learning into the future,” he said. One of the most important aspects of a forage – whether it’s dry hay, haylage, corn silage or pasture – is its di-

People digest 80 to 90 percent of what they eat and convert it into some form of energy, Goeser said. But for cows, the process can be more variable. For instance, the amount of ber in a forage can get in the way of digestion. Goeser mentioned a dairy farm he worked for that carried a milk production average of 75 to 80 pounds per cow, per day. But then the farm began feeding the new corn silage. “[Milk production] plummeted. It absolutely plummeted,” Goeser said. To rebuild production, the farm cut back on the corn silage and fed more grain. Trouble was, that made the ration more costly. The culprit in that story was the high amount of undigestible neutral detergent (UNDF) ber in the silage. Fiber does not contain much energy to begin with, and when that ber is especially tough for a cow to digest, the situation worsens, Goeser said. Fiber digestibility has been expressed in a forage analysis as “neutral detergent ber digestion 30.” That measures the amount of ber a cow digests when forage is in her rumen 30 hours. A newer measurement is total tract neutral detergent ber digestion, or TTNDFD, Goeser said. This number tells how much energy an animal will get from a particular batch of forage. The goal, he said, is TTNDFD higher than 46 to 48. And the corn silage samples that he saw before World Dairy Expo followed the same trend: less ber, higher quality. “But that’s at least to this point,” Goeser said. “We’re not done harvesting yet.” Goeser said some of the corn silage samples he’s seen have been on the drier side. The corn could have dried faster due to a good growing season that let them mature sooner. Or, he said, the dryness could stem from pressure from insects and mold. Corn that’s too dry can pose a pair of challenges, Goeser said. “[It could] depress starch digestibility a little bit because the grain is going
to be harder,” he said. “The second possible problem is that it might be a little bit less of a stable crop,” Goeser said. That lack of stability could show up as corn silage that’s uffy and doesn’t pack very well and does not ferment very well. Around the rst week of September, Goeser noticed that the ber digestibility of corn silage sample just fell off the cliff. It dropped from 45 to the mid-30s. “I have not seen this before,” Goeser said. Goeser suggested that dairy producers might want to note the harvesting dates of their corn silage and keep their eyes peeled for trouble. More
hard-to-digest ber in the silage might make milk production drop ve pounds per cow, per day, especially with corn chopped at mid-September or later. Last year, he said, it took some new-crop corn silage until January to ferment enough to boost starch digestibility to 80 percent. Goeser offered an idea for increasing corn silage’s digestibility. Raise the cutterbar and chop so 18 inches of stalk are left standing, instead of six inches left. Doing so, he said, will leave the tougher, less-digestible part of the stalks in the eld. And that will have the effect of making the feed that’s ensiled more
digestible. Raising the cutterbar will reduce the amount of dry matter harvested per acre, he said. But Goeser pegged the loss at just 0.6 ton per acre. The value of the yield per acre will also fall. With corn silage valued at $35 a ton, he said the loss would amount to $45.60 per acre. But, by feeding better silage, milk per cow could rise by 1.3 pounds per day, to 90.79 pounds from 89.49 pounds, in Goeser’s example. And, the value of that milk could rise, from $15.66 a day to $15.89. Over the course of a year, said Goeser, a farm could sell more milk that’s worth $83.04 more.

ConƟnued from GESKE | Page 3 off the farm, Marge and Geske started making plans for the future two years ago. “The biggest obstacle was that we were land-locked,” Geske said. “Our farm wasn’t able to grow. When we couldn’t grow, we knew we couldn’t continue.” So, Marge and Geske made plans to sell their cows. “It wasn’t a spur of the moment thing, and we weren’t forced into it,” Geske said. However, Geske was very specic in the way he wanted his dairying career to end. “I wanted them to sell [the cows] as a complete herd. They couldn’t pick

and choose which ones they wanted. After all the years I worked at building up the herd, I wanted to see someone start up with a terric group of registered cows and keep it going,” Geske said. “And, I wanted a young couple or person looking to start dairy farming to get them. I wanted to nish dairy farming my way.” After ofcially putting his herd up for sale this past summer, Geske received numerous calls, but no one t his requirements.

Leonard Geske (leŌ) and KayƟ Lyseth look on as another group of Geske’s cows are loaded onto the trailer on Oct. 15. “People were calling and wanting to buy only certain ones, so I told them no,” Geske said. “I had my hay and straw put up already, so if I couldn’t sell my herd the way I wanted, I could milk them another winter.” Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait long. In August, Bekius, a young farmer looking to start milking cows on his own near Milaca, Minn., purchased the herd in its entirety. “I was very impressed with him,” Geske said. “When he came to look at the cows, all he said was, ‘Wow, I hope we can make this work.’ I told him that I would make it work.” After getting nances in order,
Bekius had to wait until Oct. 15 to bring the cows to the farm. “His barn had been vacant for six years. They had to put in new equipment and make some upgrades to be on Grade A before the cows arrived,” Geske said. “I milked them in the meantime. I told him the milk was mine. Any heifer calves that were born would be his, but any bull calves were mine to sell to help pay for the feed for the cows. I made sure to work with him to make it happen.” Finally, on Oct. 15, Bekius, his girlfriend, Kayti Lyseth, and the Geskes transported all 82 head of cattle to Milaca.
“A bull calf was born that morning, so I told him, that one was his,” Geske said. After arriving in Milaca, Geske worked with Bekius and Lyseth to get the cattle settled in the barn. “I suggested that he put them in the stalls in the same order they were on my farm,” Geske said. “I gured it would make the transition for Ken and the cows a little easier.” The plan worked. “It went pretty smoothly,” Geske said. Geske also helped Bekius milk that evening, stayed the night and helped him with milking on Sunday morning before going home. “I knew the cows, and I wanted to make the transition easier for him,” Geske said. “I helped him put up the cow cards in the barn and went over paperwork with him.” With the cows gone, Geske is keeping himself busy working for a neighboring crop farmer. “I miss my cows, but I prepared myself for this,” Geske said. “I’m just glad they went to a good home, and I hope they get a good start. I gave him my whole life’s work.” However, Geske kept a Holstein heifer, a Brown Swiss heifer and a Milking Shorthorn cow and heifer at his daughter’s place. “A farmer never sells all of his seed,” Geske said. After a 55-year career, Geske felt those years milking cows were well spent. “We made a very good and rewarding living,” Geske said. “Marge and I are truly thankful for how the Lord has blessed us all our married years on the farm. I was able to do what I dearly love to do.”

Luebkes win Grand Champion Forage Producer at WDE By MIssy Mussman missy@dairystar.com
MAYER, Minn. –The World Forage Analysis Superbowl at World Dairy Expo is a must-see attraction for Tom and Jody Luebke. “It’s a point of interest for us,” Tom Luebke said. “It’s fun to look at the high scores people get on their samples. We marvel at what people can accomplish.” This year, Luebke was among those samples at World Dairy Expo and earned Grand Champion Forage Producer of the World Forage Analysis Superbowl on Oct. 5 in Madison, Wis. Luebke and his family milk 90 cows near Mayer, Minn. “It still hasn’t completely hit me yet,” Luebke said. “I’m still in awe of it all.” The sample Luebke sent in for the contest was of fth crop alfalfa hay with interseeded Italian ryegrass. “I always seed grasses at the same time as alfalfa,” Luebke said. “But this eld was different. I had several other elds I wanted to transition out of alfalfa. This stand had grass in it already, but it had thinned out. So, for the rst time ever, I interseeded in an existing stand to make it protable for another year.” However, this fth crop was not one that Luebke thought would have a high quality test. The challenges started when they interseeded the Italian ryegrass. “The tube on the planter got clogged so we had to drop the seed on the ground and take the harrow over the eld to get the seed to soil contact,” Luebke said. That was only the beginning. “We cut it thinking we had a week scheduled out of dry and sunny weather,” Luebke said. “But right after we cut it, there was no sun for the rest of the week.” Luebke raked the hay, and eventually had his custom baler come to put it up. But when he came, the monitor on the baler was not working. “We had no idea what the density or
moisture of the hay was,” Luebke said. “We had to estimate as best we could.” However, luck was on Luebke’s side. “It actually turned out well,” Luebke said. “The hay maintained a nice green color and good texture.” When Luebke tested it before feeding it to his cows, he was even more surprised at the quality of his hay. “What stood out the most to me was my relative feed quality (RFQ) value, which was 289.86,” Luebke said. With that high of a number, Luebke thought it was his opportunity to nally compete in the Forage Analysis Superbowl at Expo for the rst time. “I thought this sample could maybe compete there,” Luebke said. “So, I called my seed salesman, John Dockendorf, who has a good reputation of doing well at the superbowl, and asked him about it.” His seed salesman took the sample of hay for Luebke and sent it in for him along with a copy of the forage test. “I didn’t tell anyone about it,” Luebke said. “I didn’t want to get high expectations.” Two weeks before Expo, Luebke still had not heard anything about attending the results banquet. “I gured I hadn’t qualied or they hadn’t nished yet,” Luebke said. “But my seed salesman said he would highly recommend I attend Expo.” The following week, Expo sent a letter notifying Luebke he was in fact a nalist in the contest along with Expo’s test results on the sample. “My RFQ value had gone down substantially,” Luebke said. “It was at 216. I called my seed salesman about it and he told me that it happens sometimes with variations in the test results.” But Luebke noticed his pounds of milk per ton of feed had a value of 4,086 pounds. “That was high,” Luebke said. “I decided I would go, but I didn’t think I was going to win.” Once he arrived at Expo with Jody, the rst thing they did was check out the samples. “They didn’t have any results posted yet, but I noticed my numbers were high,” Luebke said. ConƟnued from LUEBKES | Page 7 On the day of the event, the emcee announced the ve nalists in each category based on scores with 70 percent based on lab analysis results and 30 percent on visual appearance. “I thought it would be like showing cows,” Luebke said. “I thought you had to win a class to move onto champion.” But when they got to his category – grass hay – they never called his name. “I had no idea what was going on,” Luebke said. “I thought maybe they made a mistake.” Finally, it came down to the four remaining trophies. Two of them were for quality counts for corn silage and hay/haylage. “They didn’t call my name for either of those,” Luebke said. But there were two more trophies left – grand champion rst time entrant and grand champion forage producer. “I thought maybe I would get the rst time entrant one, but they called someone else’s name,” Lu-

I couldn’t win grand champion my rst year out.” But as luck would have it, they called Luebke’s name for grand champion forage producer, which was the rst time a grass sample won. “I was totally shocked,” Luebke said. “I felt like I was in a dream.” With Expo nished, Luebke said he is not going to do anything different on his farm. “I’ve always strived to produce high quality forages,” Luebke said. “I’m going to continue to do that.” When it comes to entering the superbowl again in future years, Luebke is not ruling it out. “We will see how things go,” he said. “If it tests well, I might try again.” Until then, Luebke is taking everything in from his grand champion win. “From the start, luck was on my side. It feels good knowing my efforts were rewarded,” Luebke said. “I didn’t anticipate doing anywhere close to what I did. That’s what makes this extremely special.”

PINE ISLAND, Minn. – The Alberts family knows people can appreciate looking at good cows no matter where they live. That’s why the Alberts family opened their farm to two visitors from Denmark. “They were at World Dairy Expo and wanted to make a stop here,” Dave Alberts said. Morten Kristiansen, a representative from Key Genetics, from Aabybro, Denmark, and Per Jensen, a herdsman for a 140-cow Holstein dairy near Horsens, Denmark, made the trek to Pine Island, Minn., after attending World Dairy Expo. They were interested in the genetics of the Alberts family’s 600cow registered Holstein herd on their dairy, Pine Shelter Farms. “We wanted to see Captain daugh-

ters,” Kristiansen said. Kristiansen is referring to the bull, Edg Ss Captain 8100. He is a Supersire son whose great granddam is PineShelter Cheyenne – the Alberts family’s homebred cow that won the International Holstein Show and reserve supreme champion at World Dairy Expo in 2003. “We’ve had 18 [Captain daughters] born since January,” Dave said. During their visit to the United States, Kristiansen and Jensen have been comparing the similarities and differences of the dairy farms here and back home. The average herd size in Denmark is around 160 cows, with one of the biggest ones in the country currently expanding to 3,000 cows. “In the United States, farms are a lot bigger,” Kristiansen said. The genetics also differ. “There are very nice cows [here],”
Jensen said. “We have smaller cows [in Denmark].” On the farm where he works, Jensen likes to focus on milk components, good feet and legs, and overall quality type. But that’s not like the rest of the dairy farmers in his country. “Most just breed for commercial cows,” said Kristiansen, who along with working for a genetics company has brothers who own and operate dairy farms in Denmark. “About 90 percent of Denmark’s herds are used for commercial and not for type.” Genomics also plays a big role in genetics in Denmark with 90 percent of the market coming from genomic bulls. “Type people want proven bulls,” Kristiansen said. “I don’t believe they’re better, but you’ll get a more consistent herd with proven sires.” Mogul is one of the most sought-after bulls amongst Denmark dairy breeders, Kristiansen said. Like many others around the world, Denmark dairy farmers are experiencing a milk price low. Kristiansen estimated it has been as low as 25 euros per liter when normally they’re used to close to 40 euros per liter. In the last two years, country ofcials have said 15 percent of dairy farms have sold their cows, Kristiansen said, mentioning that number is supposed to rise to about 25 percent. Denmark dairy farmers are paid a premium for milk with higher fat and protein, Kristiansen said. And most of the milk in the country is made into cheese and milk powder for exports. Little is made into uid milk. “The government in Denmark is very controlling,” Kristiansen said. “They want people to go organic.” One of Kristiansen’s brothers recently built a barn for 600 animals and is becoming certied organic. “It’s a way of surviving,” he said. “We’re not organic in our mind.” Organic dairy farmers in Denmark are paid nearly 50 euros per liter. But regardless of price, Kristiansen and Jensen said genetics is what has kept them interested in the dairy business. “I like the breeding,” Kristiansen said.

What dairy or ag-related extracurricular activities are you involved in? I am involved in FFA and 4-H. I am on the dairy judging team for both Goodhue County 4-H and for Goodhue FFA.
Why are you involved in these activities/organizations and what is your favorite? These organizations are great for getting to know more people, and they are a great way to learn about more opportunities for my future. In FFA, I enjoy dairy judging and going to state convention. I hope to attend national convention next year. In 4-H, I bring indoor projects to the fair. I do not show dairy at the fair right now but am hoping I can in the next couple years. My favorite activity I am involved in is being on the dairy judging team. Tell us your best experience during your time in these activities/organizations. My best experience in these activities has been being the overall high individual at the state 4-H dairy judging competition this year. It is an amazing experience, and I get the amazing opportunity to judge as part of a composite

Tell us something about yourself that many people don’t know. I am the youngest kid in my grade, and I should actually be a sophomore this year.
What are your career aspirations? I am just a junior so it is not completely decided what I will do yet, but I know I would like to stay in the ag industry. I would love to stay connected to the dairy industry as well.
Tell us some of your duties on the farm. Some of my duties on the farm include helping my dad with milking, helping with the calves, feeding the steers and any other chores Dad needs help with or tells me to do.
What is something you’ve learned from being involved in these activities/organizations? The biggest things I have learned from being in these activities through FFA and 4-H have been speaking and people skills. I have gained so much more condence in talking to people through these organizations, which will help me in my future. Who do you look up to and why? There are many people who have set great examples
If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be and how would you change it? If I could change one thing in the world it would be all the ghting that goes on in the world. I would change this by trying to build stronger governments in the countries that have a lot of violence.

I want to be a farmer because there is a lot of room to run around on a farm and I love being around animals. If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. It would have two silos, a heifer barn, a milk room, a feed room, a shed, a house and a car. For animals, I would have pigs, chickens, ducks and cats, too. What’s your favorite dairy treat? I ll the water tanks for the heifers. On weekends, I help morning and night, but during the school week I just help after school. What’s your favorite chore and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is when the water tanks need to be xed and I only have to ll one. I also like it when the pigs get out and we have to chase them. My least favorite chore is lling water tanks. DAIRY CALENDAR The Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW) will be hosting the PDPW Food & Policy Summit on Oct. 25-26, 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel, Madison, Wis. This cutting-edge event will bring together dairy farmers, processors, regulators and allied industry to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities facing today’s dairy operations. The rst day will be dedicated to the voices driving policy and will feature Keynote speaker Ben Brancel, the Wisconsin Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). Secretary Brancel will share thoughts on the agriculture industry, policies affecting agriculture, consumer trends and potential for the future. Also on day one, a food panel representing Dean Foods, JBS USA, The Hershey Company and Grassland Dairy Products, Inc., will shed light on processors and food trends, while a consumer panel will highlight the driving factors behind consumer decision making. Closing day one of the Summit, Scott Beckstead, of The Human Society of the United States (HSUS), will address their organization’s current expectations for the dairy industry. Day two of the Summit will offer solutions to issues facing the dairy industry. Topics of discussion will include the use of animal antibiotics, led by Brian Lubbers, DVM, PhD; an update on National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) policies; and will highlight changes in the Wisconsin DNR regulations. The 19th Annual Farmer Cooperatives Conference will bring together agricultural cooperative leadership and industry experts from across the country to examine strategic issues impacting farmer-owned cooperatives. The conference will be held Nov. 2-4 at the Radisson Blu in downtown Minneapolis. The Farmer Cooperatives Conference gives cooperative leaders the tools needed to navigate challenges ahead. Over two days, more than 20 agricultural cooperative leaders and industry experts will address strategic issues such as cybersecurity and data privacy issues related to precision agriculture, updates on the policy environment and the changing regulatory landscape, the complementary roles of board and management play in strategic development and governance best practices. This year’s program features keynote presentations by two nationally recognized champions of U.S. agriculture and competitive markets. Joseph Glauber, is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute and previously served as the Chief Economist at United States Department of Agriculture. His keynote will focus on global market trends and the implications that trade partnerships will have on agricultural products and commodities. Jason Henderson, Associate Dean and Director of Purdue Extension, is scheduled to speak on Friday morning to share his outlook for the 2017 farm economy. Mr. Henderson, the former Vice President and Omaha Branch Executive at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, is a nationally recognized expert in agricultural and rural issues. Nominations open for Corn Promotion Board The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is accepting nominations for three seats on the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board. Producers who grow and sell corn in Districts 1, 2 and 7 are eligible to nominate producers or to be nominated to the board. Signed, notarized nomination forms must be postmarked by November 1, 2016. Counties represented in each district are as follows: District 1: Douglas, Bayeld, Ashland, Iron, Vilas, Burnett, Washburn, Sawyer, Price, Oneida, Polk, Barron, Rusk, Lincoln, Chippewa, Taylor, Eau Claire, Clark, Marathon, Jackson, Wood, Portage and Waupaca. District 2: St. Croix, Dunn, Pierce, Pepin, Buffalo and Trempealeau. District 7: Green Lake, Dodge, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha and Milwaukee. A completed nomination form must include the signatures of ve eligible corn growers other than the nominee. Completed forms must also be notarized. Reimbursement can be for up to 75 percent of the cost, not to exceed $750, per scope. “The annual cost of certication is a major expense for both new and established organic producers,” said Kimberly DeSchepper, SDDA grant and loan specialist. “Diverse operations may receive funds for up to four different scopes.” Applications and supporting documents must be sent to SDDA for eligible certication or re-certication expenses incurred after Oct.1, 2015, and before Sept. 30, 2016. All applications will be reviewed and processed on a rst-come, rst-served basis. The deadline for submissions is Nov. 15. Funding for the program is provided through a cooperative agreement between SDDA and the Agricultural Marketing Service branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. After many years of dairy farming, owners have decided to discontinue milking cows. This is a very young herd of cows w/over half the cows being in their 1st or 2nd lactation. Top sires from Genex have been used as well as top registered herd sires used for heifers and cleanup purposes. These are nice dairy framed cows w/proper feet & legs and exceptionally nice udders. The herd is housed in a tie stall barn, used to being switched in and out of a freestall barn & should adapt well to most housing & milking systems. Current bulk tank receipts show a 72 lb. per cow average, 3.8% B.F. & SCC in the 200,000 range. This sale will feature several recently fresh cows milking from 85 to 120 lbs. per day on 2X per day milking and no BGH used. There will also be some Holstein cross cows sold as well. All pertinent production, SCC & breeding info will be posted on sale day. If you are looking for very good replacement cows, be sure to attend this sale.
