Details of the Project:

Despite the hurdles posed by the Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020, the determined engineering team at J M BAXI HEAVY ensured the seamless fabrication of these enormous modules. Dubbed TP 11, TP-12, and TP-13, these structures stand as shining examples of Indian engineering excellence.

Timelines and Execution:

The journey began in November 2023, navigating through challenges brought on by the pandemic. With careful planning, loadouts were conducted every 60 days, a testament to the strategic project management approach. Through innovative loadout arrangements and the implementation of a float over operation, the safe and efficient transportation of these massive structures was ensured.

Three Heaviest Modules for L&T Marjan Offshore Field. The pinnacle of the achievement was reached on May 30, 2024, with the completion of the final loadout of TP-12. Let's delve into the specifics:

These monumental modules, complete with load spreaders and axles, were transported and loaded out using state-of-the-art equipment, including 260 SPMT axle lines with 12 PPU and 85 ballast pumps

Each loadout, from axle insertion to final placement onto the HDB-402, a 400-class float-over barge, was efficiently executed within a mere 36 hours With a combined weight of 18,000 metric tons and comprising 530,000 freight units, these modules signify a paradigm shift in engineering and logistics capabilities

focussing on inviting Expressions of Interest shortly to execute a green hydrogen pilot project, which is expected to start production within a year “Cochin Port already has existing capabilities and rich experience of handing liquid cargo, especially chemicals like ammonia. The port therefore will be in an advantageous situation to build bunkering facility for green hydrogen and its derivatives”, Mr. B Kasiviswanathan, Chairman, Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) said. He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on the “Pathway for a Successful Green Hydrogen Pilot at Cochin Port”, organised in association with the Indian Ports Association.

According to officials, the port is exploring various project proposals for developing green hydrogen pilots Cochin Port will invite proposal ideas from stakeholders to finalise the scope of the pilot project. Cochin Port Authority, Indian Ports Association and industry stakeholders will prioritise working together on these proposals.

The ‘Harit Sagar’ – Green Port Guidelines aims to achieve a zero carbon emission goal by establishing ‘ G r e e n A m m o n i a ’ b u n k e r s a n d refuelling facilities at major ports by 2035. With its exceptional connectivity to

d o m e s t i c a n d international shipping routes, Cochin could serve as a potential testing ground for g r e e n h y d r o g e n initiatives This gives Cochin an opportunity

t o e m e r g e a s a “Lighthouse Port,” setting a precedent for other ports to lead the g r e e n h y d r o g e n transition.

NEW DELHI: The newly formed NDA Government has received specific feedback based on which it may take up key proposals to expand a n d r e v i e w i t s f l a g s h i p d e v e l o p m e n t a l p r o g r a m m e s , including ramping up allocations, f o c u s o n j o b c r e a t i o n a n d a comprehensive review of the PLI Scheme, sources told.

One of the feedback items proposes to expand the Aspirational District Programme beyond 500 districts, and increase allocation to the scheme Centre has also received feedback on the need to revamp the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), to bring in focus on entrepreneurship and job creation, it is learnt.

The Atal Innovation Mission was initiated in 2016 to be a focal point for

innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. The government could also consider steps to boost the availability of credit for MSMEs and could set up an institute on the lines of NABARD to focus on increased credit and boost exports, sources familiar with the development told.

PM Modi had earlier highlighted the success of the Aspirational Districts Programme in 112 districts and announced its expansion to uplift more areas, promising a review of progress in 2024.

T h e p r o p o s a l s s e n t t o t h e government include the need to further provide indemnity to banks that have extended credit to the MSME sector, sources told the TV channel.

A comprehensive review of the

PLI Scheme could also be in order, with five years having passed since the PLI proposals were first initiated. The focus on PLIs could be to consider backward linkages with MSMEs, with focus on industries that can create more jobs.

The plan for the next 100 days of Modi government will be presented before the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and then the Union Council of Ministers next week, News18 reported.

Indian traders demand resumption of border trade with China through Lipulekh pass

NEW DELHI: Indian traders involved in border trade with China

t h r o u g h t h e L i p u l e k h p a s s i n Pithoragarh district since 1992, have requested the central government to take up the issue of resumption of border trade through this route with Beijing The trade route was closed rather suddenly after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019, forcing Indian traders to return from the Taklakot mart in Tibet leaving behind their woollen products.

Five years have passed but the route has not been opened, an organisation of border traders in Dharchula said.

The traders who belong to the Bhotia tribe started to raise their demand for reopening of the trade route through Lipulekh after China recently began the process of implementing a pact, in which it had agreed to open all 14 trade passes with Nepal.

T h e i m p l e m e n t a t i o n o f t h e agreement inked by China and Nepal in December, 2022 began on May 25 this year, when China opened Piangi pass situated in Dolpa district of eastern Nepal, president of Bharat Tibetan Simant Vyapar Samiti, Dharchula Jeewan Singh Rongkali said.

Tibet border in the western region of Nepal that fall in the districts of Humla, Bajang and Darchula will be o p e n e d o n J u n e 2 0 , 3 0 a n d 25 respectively, he said

According to Rongkali, Indian tribal traders from Dharchula alone have left trading items worth Rs 15 lakh in Taklakot Mart of Tibet at the time of closure of border trade in 2019, following the Covid-19 pandemic

"We have no information if our stored goods are safe or in a state of decay. They were stored in plywood covers at the time of closure of trade," Rongkali said.

Modi Cabinet 3.0: Ashwini Vaishnaw retains Railways and IT, gets I&B Ministry

NEW DELHI : Modi Cabinet 3.0 shows that Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw has retained the Railways Ministry and IT Ministry besides getting one heavyweight portfolio –Information and Broadcasting Vaishnaw held the Railway Ministry since July 2021. He had replaced Shri Piyush Goyal, who led the ministry from September 2017 to July 2021.

The Modi government has tried to change the face of public transportation, and the railway tops the chart, with a massive push on building world-class infrastructure, stations, and the launch of new trains like Vande Bharat and Bullet trains.

Ahead of the general elections, the Centre said the railway ministry was planning to launch Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach and Vande Bharat Metros. A senior official closely associated with the project said in April that the

railways was planning to launch the countryʼs first Vande Metro to transform the intra-city transportation system While the railways has transformed stations and started semihigh-speed trains, one criticism that has been made against the Modi government is that not enough has been done for passenger trains and for those who cannot afford Vande Bharat or AC travel The Centre has also faced criticism for not being able to solve the waiting list crisis

In April, Vaishnaw said that the government was looking to increase the capacity of the Railways to a level where every passenger could get a confirmed ticket.

In the next five years, PM Modi guarantees that the capacity of the Railways will be increased so much that almost any passenger who wants to travel can easily get a confirmed ticket, he had said in a video message.

HMM partners with IKEA to drive Ocean Transport Decarbonisation

SEOUL: HMM and IKEA Supply Chain Operations, have signed an agreement to use HMM’s 'Green Sailing Service', a low-carbon ocean transport solution that will enable both companies to lower their e n v i r o n m e n t a l i m p a c t a n d c o n t r i b u t e t o t h e decarbonisation of ocean transportation.

The heart of this initiative revolves around the substantial reduction of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions, achieved by substituting conventional fossil fuels with environmentally responsible, waste-based biofuels for the ocean transportation of the IKEA products.

Biofuels used for this service are ISCC certified biofuels that are manufactured from waste-based biomass. HMM is deploying sustainable biofuel for its FIM service connecting Far East, India, Mediterranean.

Notably, the agreement will help reduce around 11,500 tonnes of CO2e emissions from 1st March, 2024 till 28th February, 2025 with the deployment of such biofuels for the whole of IKEA ocean cargo shipment with HMM The amount of CO2e emissions (11,500 tonnes) saved through this green partnership with IKEA is capable of transporting 14,534 TEU worth of Zero Emission Cargo from Asia(Busan) to Europe(Rotterdam).

The IKEA goal is to reduce the relative GHG emissions from their product transportation by 70% by 2030 and be zero emissions cargo owner by 2040. HMM, which launched the 'Green Sailing Service' early this year, intends to enhance the scope of its service through broad cooperation.

An HMM official said, "We will keep looking for ways to make sustainable development our top goal, which will help us make important progress towards carbon neutrality."
