Commencement of Transworld Group and DP World Strategic Partnership DUBAI/MUMBAI: In line with earlier correspondences on our strategic p a r t n e r s h i p w i t h D P Wo r l d a n d its subsidiar y Unifeeder Group, Transworld Group informed that final approvals from the relevant authorities have been obtained, and the transaction has been closed on 1st July 2021. Unifeeder, through its Unifeeder ISC platform, has acquired three business units of the Transworld Group, i.e., Transworld Feeders FZCO, Avana Logistek Limited (including its subsidiary Avana Global FZCO), and Transworld Feeders Pvt. Ltd. (the containerized Indian coastal and EXIM feeder shipping operations of Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Ltd, excluding vessels and bulk operations). As a result,

the combined organization will deliver more solutions through its comprehensive network, especially in the trades between India, the Arabian Gulf and South-East Asia, as well as within the wider Indian subcontinent region. Mr. Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan, the Chairman of Transworld Group and Shreyas Shipping and Logistics Limited, said: “The acquisition of three of our portfolio companies will provide DP World and Unifeeder ISC a robust platform to jointly deliver a more complete range of solutions to our customers. We are excited to be part of the DP World family and look forward to building on our continued legacy as a globally renowned independent shipping and logistics conglomerate”.

MARSEILLE / SHANGHAI: CMA CGM SORBONNE, the latest in a series of nine 23,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) vessels powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) joined the fleet of the CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. A ceremony was held at the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding under CSSC in Shanghai in the presence of Ludovic Renou, Chief Executive Officer of CMA CGM China, and the ship’s godmother, Jiang Dandan, a well-known philosopher and artist who teaches at Jiaotong University in Shanghai as well as at the Sorbonne in Paris.
