The National Shipping Board is an advisory body to Ministry of Ports Shipping and Waterways on matters related to shipping and shipping infrastructure. The National Shipping Board members are elected/nominated by Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The existing members of the National Shipping Board was reconstituted in August 2022 for a period of twoyears.

Sharma, Sr. General Manager has takenoverthechargeofIFFCOKandla Unit with effect from 1st Feb. 2023 upon superannuation ofShriOPDayama.

Shri Arun Kumar Sharma completed his graduation in B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) and has also done post-graduation in Masters of Business Administration. He started his career as Graduate Engineer at IFFCO’s Kandla Unit and has been associated with IFFCO for more than three decades. He has varied experience and expertise in projects, plant commissioning and operationsofIFFCOKandlaplant.

Prior to taking charge of Kandla Unit, Shri Arun Kumar Sharma has served IFFCO in different roles at

KandlaUnitasHeadofTechnical Department and also as Head of ProductionDepartment.

He has also contributed his expertise in JPMC, Jordan for technical study and modifications in DAP plant subsequent to which plant is operating at full capacity with highefficiency.

He has made Technical Paper Presentation at IFA and FAI conferences on improving productivity of DAP/ NPKplants.

He has widely travelled overseas in connection with variousprojectsofIFFCO.
