handling with different supplies, but we and our team finally did it from Kandla and we feel happy that this high value cargo is safely delivered and discharged at port in UK now”, Mr. S. Perumal also said that “we wish that this experience with first shipment by Ebro India, in future more such type of shipment possibilities will be explored by other companies in industry exporting Basmati Brown Rice. Tremendous potential to grow bilateral trade with Canada: Piyush Goyal NEW DELHI: Bilateral trade between India and Canada stands at USD 10 billion currently and there is tremendous potential to take it to much higher levels, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said recently. He also said both sides have discussed the possibility of concluding the India-Canada comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA), a kind of free trade pact, in two stages. "An initial interim agreement covering goods and services, deeper economic partnership in several sectors and a much larger and comprehensive agreement at the second stage, a little later. "This way we can harvest the low hanging fruits and areas of mutual interest and provide opportunities to our business on both sides and enable greater degree of trade in goods and services," he noted. The minister said a few rounds of discussions have happened and now he hopes to take it forward on a fast track basis.
"The bilateral trade with Canada currently stands at USD 10 billion. There is tremendous potential to grow mutual trade to much higher levels," Goyal said while speaking at the 11th Canada-India Business Forum. India's competitive advantage in areas like textiles and footwear, and sectors where it has traditional strengths and where "we are building modern technologies" like services sector, agri-tech and edu-tech are showing tremendous potential, he said. The Minister further said Canadian pension funds have pledged over USD 55 billion in investments between 2014 and 2020. Out of that, over USD 32 billion have already been realised. India's exports to Canada include pharma, iron and steel, chemicals, gem and jewellery, nuclear reactors and boilers. Imports comprise minerals, ores, vegetables, fertiliser, paper and pulp.

India will Export more than 2 million tonnes of wheat in 2 months, expects the highest Export in 7 years NEW DELHI: In the next two months, India will export 20 to 25 lakh tonnes of wheat. A lot of wheat is being exported from India this year. According to an estimate, this year India can export the most in the last seven years. The reason behind this is that the price of Indian wheat remains competitive as compared to other countries and that is why wheat is being bought here. The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) in its latest report has raised its estimates for India’s wheat exports from 4.5 million tonnes to 5.25 million tonnes. Actually, the price of Indian wheat seems reasonable for the surrounding markets. India is providing wheat of good quality and standard at reasonable prices. For this reason, new deals are being received for exports. The USDA said India’s wheat export prices averaged $265
in August and neighboring countries benefited from lower freight rates. India is currently shipping wheat on a large scale to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and countries in West Asia. India exports wheat to a country like Nepal only by road. On the other hand, if we talk about the export prices of wheat of other countries, then the price of wheat produced in Ukraine and other former Soviet Union member countries is $ 358.5. According to the International Grains Council (IGC), Argentina’s wheat is being sold for $314. According to data from the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), wheat exports rose to 2.34 million tonnes, valued at Rs 4,590 crore, in the first half of the financial year. Bangladesh is the largest buyer of Indian wheat. After this comes Sri Lanka and Nepal.

US raises anti-dumping duty on shrimp exports by India WASHINGTON: India’s seafood sector is likely to take a hit with US department of commerce (USDOC) hiking the anti-dumping duty on shrimp exports from India by more than 100%. USDOC recently issued the final results of the fifteenth administrative review of the anti-dumping duty order on frozen warm-water shrimp from India by fixing an anti-dumping duty rate of 7.15%. It was 3.06% after the final results of the 14th administrative review. These determinations mean that US importers of Indian shrimp from companies subject to the administrative review will be asked to pay additional anti-dumping duties on merchandise imported between February 1, 2019, and January 31, 2020, and that, going forward, the companies will be subject to antidumping duty cash deposits rates at
these levels for future shrimp imports Frozen shrimp exports constitute almost 74.31 % of the value of India’s total seafood exports and the US actions could have a deleterious effect on the numerous aquaculture farms spread all over coastal India. Bulk of India’s frozen shrimps is exported to the US. Under the US Tariff Act of 1930, all tariffs come automatically under review every five years and the antidumping duty on shrimp imports from India, China, Brazil, Thailand and Vietnam imposed from 2005 would be revoked or continued on the basis of a fresh evaluation. US-based Southern Shrimp Alliance (SSA) is the original petitioners against India and several other nations in the shrimp import issue. They allege that that lowerpriced, pond-raised shrimps from
B r a z i l , C h i n a , E c u a d o r, I n d i a , Thailand and Vietnam were hurting the US industry. The US mostly harvests shrimp from the sea. SSA maintains that the dumping margins in administrative reviews were deter mined af ter USDOC repeatedly selected a tiny subset of Indian exporters for individual examination and has allowed hundreds of other Indian shrimp exporters to ship to US with confidence that their own pricing practices will not be evaluated. This, in turn, has encouraged many Indian shrimp companies to increase their presence in the US market with aggressive pricing strategies ,SSA reports. Seafood exports from India declined in both volume and value terms during the last fiscal mostly on account of sluggish demand due to Covid to $5.96 billion.

HAROPA PORT and Brittany Ferries inaugurate the new Ireland-Le Havre freight service LE HAVRE: In Le Havre, Brittany Ferries is launching a new freight service between Normandy and the town of Rosslare in Ireland. Underpinned by the dynamic generated by reorganisation of trade between Ireland and the European continent, this service provides one weekly return trip, beginning on 12 November.
The Cotentin can carry 120 driver-accompanied freight units on each trip between Le Havre and Rosslare. The creation of this new service between Le Havre and Rosslare is the practical outcome of the efforts made by HAROPA PORT and Brittany Ferries in the wake of Brexit, working hand-in-hand with a range of Irish economic and institutional actors. The new service provides an additional solution for connecting Ireland with the EU Single Market via France - one long awaited by players in the logistics sector in France and Ireland. HAROPA PORT and Le Havre city authority are totally supportive of the consolidation of these new trade flows that will benefit from the logistics capacity offered by Le Havre's industrial/port complex and industrial synergies between Ireland and Normandy, especially where fresh produce and medical products are concerned. "HAROPA PORT is pleased to have contributed to the launch of this new service operated by Brittany Ferries, a longstanding partner for freight activities in Le Havre", declared Stephane Raison, CEO of HAROPA PORT. "As the leading French port, we wish to play our role to the full and we are all the
more delighted to see this new service providing a fast maritime connection between the Paris consumer area and Ireland". "The establishment of this link today between Le Havre and Rosslare is an important milestone for Brittany Ferries, Le Havre and its port. It had been feeling the lack of a freight line to Ireland until now because Brexit is opening up new opportunities every day, with a trebling in the number of vehicles carried by sea from Ireland in the space of less than a year! It reinforces our service offering from Cherbourg and our project for a multimodal rail highway soon to be connecting Spain and Normandy. For our line, being a part of this dynamic is clearly a necessity and we are proud to stand alongside HAROPA PORT and the chair of its management board Stephane Raison! We needed to be positioned on all services that offer genuine potential for growth as part of our return to competitiveness. Establishing this link to Le Havre alongside Edouard Philippe eight years after the creation of our very first passenger service, is also a source of great pleasure for me!" added Jean-Marc Roue, chair of the Brittany Ferries supervisory board. "Cross-channel services have suffered because of Brexit. The creation of this new direct link with Ireland is excellent news and a marvellous opportunity for the development and competitiveness of the port of Le Havre. It consolidates the position of Le Havre as one of the Europe's main ports", commented Edouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and chair of the Le Havre Seine city and district authority. Thomas Byrne, Minister of State for European Affairs of the Republic of Ireland added: "I wish to salute here the senior management of Brittany Ferries and HAROPA PORT for the clear-sightedness they have shown in grasping the strategic value and importance of this service. The fact that this direct link is now operational is a tribute to the perseverance and vision of its stakeholders. The full bookings announced for the maiden voyage are an excellent start. Confronted with the dual challenge posed by Brexit and the pandemic, these routes, which the media call "Brexit Busters", have turned out to be crucial in maintaining the frequency of flows with the Single Market and the European continent as a whole". HAROPA PORT elected “Best Green Seaport 2021” L E H AV R E : H A R O PA P O R T has recently been elected Best Green Seaport 2021 by the readers of the magazine Asia Cargo News. The Asian Freight Logistics and Supply Chain Awards (AFLAS) ceremony took place on 21 October last in Hong Kong. After 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020 - now 2021: HAROPA PORT is the winner for the fifth time of the BEST GREEN SEAPORT prize. The honour was awarded on Thursday 1 October in Hong Kong before an audience of some 300 customers (shippers, freight forwarders, shipping lines), gathered together for a gala dinner held by the magazine Asia Cargo News, a leading trade publication in Asia. A shortlist was established last April. HAROPA PORT was up against the ports of Singapore, Long Beach (United States) and Hamburg (Germany). The BEST GREEN SEAPORT 2021 prize was awarded following a ballot of some 15,000 Asia Cargo News readers in the sector based across the entire Asia region. The criteria for the shortlist related to the following: • compliance with green freight regulations and environmental standards, • investments in initiatives, technologies and ecological action plans, • inclusion of environmental requirements in strategic planning, • implementation of a policy for reductions in fuel-related emissions from freight handling operations, • continuous training of the workforce in ecological initiatives and measures aimed at reducing the carbon footprint.
HAROPA PORT, an active member of the "Getting To Zero" coalition This new award highlights the acknowledgement of the environmental commitment shown by HAROPA PORT. With this reward, importers/exporters, logisticians, forwarding agents and shipping lines in Asia have saluted the initiatives driven by HAROPA PORT. Its deep commitment to the environment is notably reflected in the development of mass freight transport modes and promotion of initiatives that are effective in terms of the mitigation of global warming. HAROPA PORT is a member of the Getting To Zero coalition, an organisation that supports the decarbonisation of the shipping industry, working alongside companies in maritime transportation, energy, infrastructure and finance as well as participating actively in the work being done by the World Ports Climate Action Program (WPCAP), an international network of thirteen ports that are pursuing together the goal of a speedier energy transition by ports and maritime transport. "For HAROPA PORT, the reconciliation of economic development with the environment is a major issue. Our organisation is taking active and coordinated action to address environmental goals and issues across its local regions from the Greater Paris area to the Seine Estuary. This additional award is indicative of the recognition of our environmental policy. It proves yet again that it is possible to be the leading French port complex and at the same time seek to ensure development protective of our local areas and ecosystems" Stephane Raison, CEO and chair of the Management Board of and HAROPA PORT declared with satisfaction. Seahorse Ship Agencies Pvt Ltd represent HAROPA Ports, for commercial and promotional activities In India.
