China most promising emerging logistics market, India ranks 2nd: Study
BEIJING: China with a score of 8.31 was revealed as the most promising emerging logistics market in the world, as per a survey by global integrated logistics provider Agility. The ranking is based on four metrics, domestic logistics opportunities, international logistics opportunities, business fundamentals, and digital readiness.Indiawasrankedsecondin theoverallranking.

Arabian Gulf countries—UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman—again offered the best business conditions. Malaysia, with the fourth best environment for business, was the only non-Gulf countryinthetopfive.

Among the several highlights of the2023indexsurveyincludenet-zero commitment and climate change. Around 53 per cent of logistics executives said their companies have committed to net-zero emissions, and another 6.1 per cent said their businesses have achieved net-zero. Moreover, half of the respondents admitted that climate change is a concern their businesses must plan for, while another 18 per cent said it is alreadyaffectingthem.
Seafood export during last 3 years increases from US$ 6679 mn in FY 20 to an all-time high record figure of US$ 7759.58 mn in FY 22
NEW DELHI: Seafood products export from India during the last three years has increased from US$ 6679 million in FY 2019-20 to an alltime high record figure of US$ 7759.58 million in FY 2021-22, the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Smt. Anupriya Patel said in reply to a parliamentary question.
The Government through Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) provides financial assistance to the seafood processors/exporters for the development of infrastructure and up gradation of new technologies in the fisheries sector all over the country with an aim to bring in more investment in high end value addition and impart sills to workers in the processing units for producing such products so as to enhance the unit valuerealizationinexport.Duringthe period 2017-18 to 2021-22, total financial assistance of approx. Rs. 99.00 Crores have been extended by MPEDA.
