Pg. 6 MUMBAI: The Federation of Freight Forwarders’ Associations in India (FFFAI) is all set to organise its 24th Biennial Convention from August 12 to 14, 2022 at ITC Grand Chola in Chennai with the theme: “Logistics-Reshape,Embrace&Surge,IntheDigitalEra”. This will be the first post-Covid pandemic physical daysoverseasasconglomerationoftheCustomsBrokers/FreightForwarderswellastheentireLogisticsindustryinIndia.Alreadymorethan550delegatesfromacrossIndiaandcountrieshavebeenregisteredtoattendthethreeConvention,informedtheFFFAIrelease. Mr Shankar Shinde MrAV Vijayakumar destinedpreviousshipbreakbulkoftransformersolutions,milestoneMUMBAI:MSCIndiaachievedanotherinprojectcargoshippingwiththeloadingofa140-TononMSCReginafromtheportMundra,India.ThisistheheaviesteverparcelmovedonaContainerfromIndia,surpassingMSC’srecord.Thetransformerisforagreenfieldrenewablepower developmentprojectinZambia.MSC’spreviousheavy-liftrecord was for the loading of a 115-ton transformer in 2018 at Port of Nhava Sheva. India is encroaching on countries such as China, Germany, South Korea and the USA, where pieces of more than 200 tons have been loaded successfully on Container vessels. NEW DELHI: The Union Government has revised the marine aids to navigation dues levied on ships arriving at or departing from a Port in India which translates into an effective 9 percent increase in rates despite the application of 18percentgoodsandservicestax(GST).Themarineaidstonavigationdues will be collected on foreign going ships at Rs 85 per twenty-foot equivalent unit or TEU on Container vessels and at Rs 7.50 per net registered tonnage (NT) on foreign going ships other then Container vessels, according to a 28 July gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. On this rate, 18 per cent GST will be collected.
