NEW DELHI: The Union Government has revised the marine aids to navigation dues levied on ships arriving at or departing from a Port in India which translates into an effective 9 percent increase in rates despite the application of 18percentgoodsandservicestax(GST).Themarineaidstonavigationdues will be collected on foreign going ships at Rs 85 per twenty-foot equivalent unit or TEU on Container vessels and at Rs 7.50 per net registered tonnage (NT) on foreign going ships other then Container vessels, according to a 28 July gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. On this rate, 18 per cent GST will be collected.
