If the vaccine is not yet
approved or licensed, the importer or the authorised agent of the manufacture of the vaccine will have to obtain permission license from the regulatory authority which includes the New Drug Permission under New Drugs & clinical Trials Rules, 2019, import registration under Drugs Rules,
1945 and Import licence under Drugs Rules, 1945. With import licence, vaccine can be imported for supply to state governments and private entities, the regulator has said in a set of guidance released for import of vaccines by private sector and state governments.

APSEZ Q4 Net Prots rises by 285 % to Rs. 1288 cr. AHMEDABAD: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 1,288 crore for the quarter ended 31 March, 2021. The company had posted a profit of Rs. 334 crore in the year-ago period. The company's March-quarter consolidated revenue from operations rose almost 24% to Rs. 3,608 crore as against Rs. 2,921 crore a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company sees FY22 consolidated EBIDTA at Rs. 1,020 crore to Rs. 1,070 crore. It said that it sees its free cash flow to
be in range of Rs. 5,500 crore to Rs. 6,000 crore, while the consolidated revenue should come around Rs. 1,600 crore to Rs. 1,680 crore. Karan Adani, Chief Executive Ofcer and Whole Time Director of APSEZ said, “FY21 has been a transformational year for APSEZ. Some of the key decisions we took this year have set the foundation for the coming decade.” Cont’d. Pg. 4

Continued growth, high prot and additional share buy backs from A.P. Moller - Maersk in Q1 2021 COPENHAGEN: A.P. Moller Maersk had an exceptionally strong start to the year, with strong earnings and growth momentum across all our businesses in ocean, port services and logistics. The company benefitted from strong demand in a market still influenced by the pandemic and significant disruptions in global supply chains.
Strong demand coupled with significant operational challenges such as bottlenecks, lack of capacity and equipment shortage in global supply chains drove freight rates up significantly. At the same time, customers’ demand for truly integrated supply chains and simple, selfservice solutions has never been more evident and this provides momentum, especially for logistics and digital solutions. APSEZ Q4 Net Prots rises by 285 % to Rs. 1288 cr. Cont’d. from Pg. 3
He further added “Our customer centric approach has yielded good result for us as our market share increased by 4% on a panIndia basis. Mundra port which is the largest commercial port in the country, this year has also become the largest container port in the country surpassing JNPT by a big leap. We have also been able to restructure our cost fundamentally and were able to demonstrate an increase in EBIDTA margin by 1% taking our port margins to 70%.On the growth side we used this time to complete four large acquisitions i.e Krishnapattanam port, Gangavaram port, Dighi port and Sarguja Rail line, taking our total portfolio to 13 ports in the country. The total value of said investment was Rs.26,000 cr. We have also been able to take
another milestone step in our international journey by foryaing into container terminal in Colombo port. With these steps we are truly in the right direction to take APSEZ from a port company to a transport utility company delivering full logistics solution to our customers.” The company may abandon Myanmar project if found to violate US sanctions, it stated. It added that it's in talks with US-based "Morrison Foerster" to ensure compliance with OFAC sanctions relating to the Myanmar project. "In a scenario wherein Myanmar is classified as a sanctioned country under the OFAC, or if OFAC opines that the project violate the current sanctions APSEZ plans to abandon the project and write down the investments. The write-down will not materially impact APSEZ, as it is equivalent to about 1.3% of the total assets," it said.
Continued growth, high prot and additional share buy backs from A.P. Moller - Maersk in Q1 2021 Cont’d. from Pg. 3
“A . P. M o l l e r - M a e r s k delivered an exceptionally strong performance in Q1 2021 with record profit for the quarter. The high growth and profitability were driven by solid demand across Ocean, Logistics and Terminals. Strong demand led to bottlenecks and a lack of capacity and equipment, which drove up freight rates to record-high levels,” says Søren Skou, CEO of A.P. Moller - Maersk, before adding:
“We remain focused on the long-term transformation of A.P. Moller - Maersk, prioritising customers’ demand for integrated logistics. Our integrator strategy was validated by strong customer support during Q1. As we change the conversations with customers from being short-term transactional to becoming long-term value-based, we lay the foundation for further, stable growth.” Overall in Q1, EBITDA increased to USD 4bn from USD 1.5bn year on year and EBIT to USD 3.1bn from USD 552m compared to same quarter last year, while revenue improved by 30 pct. to USD 12.4bn. The results reflect the high volumes, which are up 5.7 pct., significant increases in freight rates of 35 pct. and lower bunker fuel prices, leading to an EBITDA in Ocean of USD 3.4bn compared to USD 1.2bn in Q1 2020, and an increase in revenue to USD 9.5bn from USD 7.2bn. Logistics & Services continued with strong growth momentum and revenue increase of 42 pct. in Q1 to USD 2bn, mainly driven by organic growth, but also with growth from the acquisitions of Performance Team and KGH Customs Services. EBITDA increased by 201 pct. to USD 205m compared to USD 68m, and EBIT increased to USD 139m compared to USD 29m same quarter last year, partly driven by margin expansion. Also, Gateway Terminals had a strong Q1 performance, with revenue increasing by 24 pct. to USD 915m from USD 740m led by higher volumes and storage income, while EBITDA increased by 52 pct. to USD 323m from USD 213m. The results came in a persistently difficult environment where countries are still contending with the effects of the pandemic.
“We have continued to dedicate significant efforts to the safety of our employees and contribute to the societies we operate in, this quarter with a particular emphasis on India,” says Søren Skou and continues: “Overall, we can be very satisfied with how the business performed this quarter. High profitability led to a ROIC of 15.7 pct., and our strong free cash flow gives us the opportunity to invest further in the transformation of the business, while accelerating the remaining part of the ongoing share buy-back programme and subsequently launch a new, additional share buy-back programme of approx. USD 5bn over the coming two years. Guidance for 2021 Given the result in Q1 2021 and our expectation that the exceptional market situation will continue well into the fourth quarter of 2021, the full-year guidance has been revised upwards on 26 April 2021 to: Underlying EBITDA in the range of USD 13.0-15.0bn (previously USD 8.5-10.5bn) compared to USD 8.3bn in 2020 Underlying EBIT in the range of USD 9.0-11.0bn (previously USD 4.3-6.3bn) compared to USD 4.2bn in 2020 Free cash flow of minimum USD 7.0bn (previously above USD 3.5bn) compared to USD 4.6bn in 2020. As part of the full-year guidance for 2021, A.P. Moller Maersk now expects the current exceptional situation, with the demand surge leading to bottlenecks in the supply chain and equipment shortage, to continue well into the fourth quarter of 2021 versus previously expected to continue in Q1 and normalise thereafter. As expected, profitability in Q1 2021 was above Q4 2020. Ocean is still expected to grow in line with global container demand, which is now expected to grow by 5-7 pct. in 2021 (previously 3-5 pct. in 2021), primarily driven by the export volumes out of China to the USA, with the highest growth seen in the first half-year. For the years 2021-2022, the accumulated CAPEX is now expected to be around USD 7bn (previously USD 4.5-5.5bn). Highlights and sensitivity guidance

Container xChange: Suez Canal closure increases the pressure on Europe’s ports • Container Availability Index (CAx) readings rise even higher at Europe’s top container ports. • Europe’s exporters struggle to find boxes as carriers priori se emp es. LONDON: The anticipated box crunch at European ports following the closure of the Suez Canal at the end of March has been less severe than expected, according to Container xChange. However, Europe’s leading box hubs are still receiving far more boxes than are departing. The average CAx reading of incoming 20 foot drycontainers across three of Europe's biggest ports Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg – climbed just 3% in week 17 compared to the week before. At Rotterdam, the increase in incoming 20 ft. dry containers was most stark, with box numbers rising +3.75% week-on-week. At Antwerp the week-on-week increase was +3.5%, while at Hamburg it was +2.2%. At all three ports incoming box traffic has been heavy since March. In Container xChange’s Container Availability Index (CAx) an index reading of below 0.5 means more containers leave a port compared to the number which enter. Above 0.5 means more containers are entering the port. Hamburg has recorded a CAx reading of above 0.8 since week 9 of this year. In week 17 its CAx reading was 0.93, up from 0.48 in week 1. Rotterdam’s CAx reading has also risen steadily in 2021, climbing from 0.65 in week 1 to 0.74 in week 9 and up to 0.83 in week 17. Antwerp, meanwhile, recorded a CAx of 0.38 at the start of the year, 0.78 in week 9 and 0.9 in week 17. In contrast, the situation at heavily-congested Felixstowe has been dire all year. The hub’s lowest CAx this year was
Container Availability Index for 20 . Dry-Containers at the ports of Antwerp, Ro erdam, Felixstowe and Hamburg in 2021. 0.87 in week 3. In week 17 it recorded a CAx of 0.95, up from 0.94 in week 16. Dr Johannes Schlingmeier, CEO & Founder of Container xChange, the world’s leading container leasing and trading platform, commented: “Europe’s top container terminals have been struggling to keep congestion at bay, with incoming boxes outweighing outgoing boxes for much of 2021. The closure of the Suez Canal appears to have only made the box crunch at Europe’s hubs only slightly worse than it already was. “What we’re hearing from our container leasing and trading members is that they find it increasingly difficult to book export containers with the carriers across Europe. It seems shipping lines are prioritising empty containers in order to move the boxes back to China as fast as possible.”

He said that over 15% growth on the base of April 2019 is a better indicator and reflects a positive double digit trend. Mr Saraf particularly emphasised that the growth in labour-intensive sectors like Gems & Jewellery, Handicrafts and Carpets augur well for the job scenario, which is most relevant in the current context. Mr Saraf added that such a growth has been mainly on account of 29 out of 30 major product groups of exports showing either a very impressive high positive growth starting with four digit and almost all ending with a very high double digit growth continuously defying all the odds for the second time during the year 2021 as still the global economy is passing through these challenging times. FIEO P resident added that the exports of Gems and Jewellery, Jute mfg. Including floor covering, Carpets, Handicrafts excl. Hand-made carpet, Leather and leather manufactures, RMG
of All Textiles, Cotton yarn/fabrics/madeups, handloom products etc., Man-made yarn/fabrics/made-ups etc., Ceramic products and glassware, Other cereals, Electronic Goods, Oil meals, Cashew, Mica, coal and other ores, minerals including process, Engineering goods, Tobacco, Iron ore, Petroleum products, Cereal preparations and miscellaneous processed item, Oil Seeds, Meat, dairy and poultry products, Tea, Marine products, Spices, Coffee, Organic and Inorganic Chemicals, Rice, Plastic and linoleum, Fruits and vegetables and Drugs and pharmaceuticals were the sectors, which contributed towards showing such a spectacular performance by the exports sector during the month. Mr Sharad Kumar Saraf also added that such a growth performance in exports during the first month of the new financial year augurs well for the sector as it will help in paving a new growth path for the sector as a whole during the fiscal. FIEO Chief also reiterated that the continuous support and help provided by the Government during these difficult times has been commendable. Mr Saraf further thanked the overall exporting community for continuously showing resilience and coming up with impressive performance
even during these torrid times. Further an increase in April 2021 imports by about 166 percent to USD 45.45 billion compared to the same period during the previous fiscal led to a trade deficit of USD 15.24 billion, which is an increase of over 120 percent during the month, which is definitely a concern and should be looked into. FIEO President reiterated that though the government has announced a slew of measures on exports, imports, banking and taxation front, the need of the hour is to soon notify the RoDTEP rates to remove uncertainty from the minds of the trade and industry thereby helping in further forging new contracts with the foreigner buyers. Mr Saraf also reiterated that the government must address some of the key issues including announcement of the new FTP soon after September, 2021, release of the necessary funds for RoDTEP, MEIS and clarity on SEIS benefits, softening of freight charges, resolving risky exporters' issues and continuance of seamless refund of IGST. Besides long pending demand for the creation of an Export Development Fund for marketing of Brand India products and various other infrastructure bottlenecks also needs to be looked into to bring back exports on the double-digit growth trajectory.

Fe d e r a t i o n o f I n d i a n E x p o r t Organisations (FIEO) President S K Saraf said that in most of the states , manufacturing and exports related services have been exempted from the restrictions and inter-state movement of cargo is permitted by the central government. "However, a pandemic of such magnitude does cause disruptions since various stakeholders are not operating with full manpower including the industry. “We expect the peak to come before mid-May and the situation should i m p r o v e t h e r e a f t e r. W i t h s u c h assumptions, we expect exports to
continue on the growth trajectory as the order booking position of exporters is very encouraging," he said. He also said that exporters are better equipped to deal with the situation with lockdown and shut down this time. When asked about buyers demand for quick delivery of consignments, he said majority of buyers are more understanding and accommodating as they have also gone through or going through similar challenges and they have extended the delivery period with mutual agreement. Seeking government intervention, Saraf said the government should open the filing facility for the Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) for 2020-21 (upto December, 2020), and Services Exports from India Scheme (SEIS) facility. Sharing similar views, Ludhianab a s e d H a n d To o l s A s s o c i a t i o n
President S C Ralhan said that in the engineering sector, the order books are good and demand is picking up in the US and Europe. "In the sector, the government should promote exports of manufactured and value-added goods. Key raw materials should not be encouraged for exports," Ralhan said. He added that the government should not curtail economic activities in the name of containing COVID-19 cases as it would impact migrant labours. Apparel Export Promotion Council of India (PTI) Chairman A Sakthivel said that all the states have agreed for functioning of export units and the sector is not facing any kind of labour shortage. "The order books are looking better. We need government support to further push the exports and they should not go for nation-wide lockdown," he added.

European Union, India to revive stalled trade talks, draft statement says, in counterweight to China NEW DELHI: The European Union and India will agree to relaunch freetrade talks stalled since 2013 at a virtual summit, according to a draft statement, as concerns about China's rise bring Brussels and New Delhi closer. The draft statement, which must be signed off by EU Ambassadors and needs New Delhi's final approval, would bind together two of the world's biggest economies in an alliance seen as a counter to China's power. If approved, the EU and India will
say: "We agreed to resume negotiations for a balanced, ambitious, comprehensive and mutually beneficial trade agreement which would respond to the current challenges," according to the draft statement. The draft said that leaders would also seek an investment protection agreement, and a third deal on so-called geographical indications, which aim to protect specialised agricultural produce from France's champagne to India's Darjeeling tea. A 2020 study by
the European Parliament put the potential benefits of a trade deal with India for the EU at up to 8.5 billion euros ($10.2 billion), although the estimate was made before Britain's departure from the bloc. The draft statement also sets the stage for an agreement for the EU and India to build joint infrastructure projects around the world, to be described at the summit as a connectivity partnership in transport, energy and digital sectors.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das highlights emergency measures to counter Pandemic MUMBAI: In an unscheduled address by RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das recently, he laid out the contours of a new range of measures to counter the pandemic. Das announced an on-tap liquidity facility of Rs 50,000 crore to ease access to healthcare services for all stakeholders in the Covid fight. Under this, banks will be permitted to provide fresh lending support to vaccine makers, manufacturers, logistics firms, etc. Banks are being incentivised to sanction these loans under priority sector classifications, the Governor announced. Here are the specifics of Das' address: — On-tap liquidity of Rs 50,000 crore
at repo rate. Under this, banks can support healthcare stakeholders like vaccine makers, hospitals, medical equipment makers as well as patients till March 31, 2022. — Till repayment or maturity, such lending will be considered priority sector lending. Under this scheme, a special loan book will be created by banks. — Banks can park liquidity equal to their Covid loan books at 40 basis points above the reverse repo rate. — RBI will do a second purchase of government securities aggregating Rs 35,000 crore in two weeks. — A targeted long ter m repo operation up to Rs 10,000 crore will be started for small finance banks. The
upper limit is Rs 10 lakh per borrower. — Small finance banks can now onlend to smaller MFIs of asset size up to Rs 500 crore. — The RBI will allow states to remain in overdraft for a maximum of 50 days. The limit was 36 days earlier. Besides, the number of consecutive overdraft days will go up to three weeks from two weeks earlier. This facility pertains to funds under the Ways and Means Advances. — Individuals and MSMEs borrowers can avail one-time restr ucturing till September 30, 2021. This covers those having exposure up to Rs 25 crore, and those that were standard as of March 31 this year.
FIEO hails RBI decision of extending easy credit, expanding health infrastructure to boost economy NEW DELHI: Mr Sharad Kumar Saraf, President, FIEO reacting to the measures announced by the Reserve Bank of India, due to the ongoing second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, including term liquidity facility of Rs. 50,000 crore to ease access to emergency health services, special long-term repo operations (SLTRO) for
small finance banks (SFBs), lending by small finance banks (SFBs) to MFIs for on-lending to be classified as priority sector lending, credit to MSME entrepreneurs and resolution framework 2.0 for Covid related stressed assets of individuals, small businesses and MSMEs, which will not only instil a sense of security and ease liquidity concerns but will help in boosting the confidence of businesses
and entrepreneurs across the country. Welcoming RBI's decision, FIEO President said that extending easy credit will help in expanding the health infrastructure in the country, which is in distress due increasing Coronavirus infection. The Federation together stands with the government in all its efforts to control the surge in Covid-19 pandemic and support the economic growth of the country.
LPG, Oil operations at Indian Ports normal amid COVID-19 measures MUMBAI: Indian ports have introduced precautionary measures to control the escalating COVID -19 pandemic, but these have not disrupted loading and discharge operations of LPG and other oil product shipments, trade and ship broking sources said. “There has been no berthing restrictions as of now at any LPG port due to COVID-19,” one importer said. The measures include night lockdowns at ports such as Kandla, lockdowns by the Mundra local municipality, strict lockdown imposed until May 1 in Mumbai and JNPT, night curfew in Goa until end-April, night curfew in Mangalore, night curfew in Tamil Nadu state, night curfew in Visakhapatnam, night curfew in some districts in Kakinada, night curfew and lockdown in Paradip, and night curfew in Krishnapattanam, shipping sources said. While in Kandla, technicians or crew change is permitted, COVID-19 test reports must be received within a minimum of up to 35-48 hours from the time samples are received at the lab. In Hazira, where Surat city is having a huge number of COVID-19 positive cases, all terminals have become very strict on entry of outsiders in port areas,
including surveyors, inspectors and technicians, sources said. No family visits are allowed and visitors are required to hand carry valid RT-PCR Negative Report, with prior permission for port entry. Though Mumbai is seeing rising COVID-19 cases, shipping movements remain unaffected and boarding restrictions have not yet been implemented. Shipping movements are also not affected at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, or JNPT, ship broking sources said. “I do not think this will have a big impact on LPG shipping, as LPG is an essential service and a politically very sensitive fuel,” another trade source said. Directives received from the Indian Ministry of Shipping have declared all ports as essential ser vices, for maintenance of uninterrupted supply chain link, within the country’s port ecosystem. In view of some restrictions imposed, shipping sources highlighted the Essential Services Maintenance Act covering all port-related activities as essential services. These mean that port operations
will continue round-the-clock and that it is imperative to have the services of port officials, employees, operators of private terminals, shipping lines, agents, operators, shippers/exporters, importers and staff engaged in technical support of vessels, including surveyors, inspectors and private laborers engaged in various port activities. These staff will be allowed to move freely during the day and night when the night curfew is in force in all states. LPG CARGOES FROM MIDDLE EAST, US According to shipping reports: one Very Large Gas Carrier has berthed at Kandla since April 26, and two are waiting since April 28; one VLGC has berthed at JNPT since April, one waiting to berth and one expected to arrive May 8. Sharp growth in exports reects pick-up in demand in Western markets: TPCI N E W D E L H I : T h e Tr a d e Promotion Council of India (TPCI) has said that healthy exports growth in labour-intensive sectors such as jute, carpet, handicrafts and leather indicates that demand is picking up in the western markets. India’s exports in April jumped nearly three-folds to USD 30.21 billion on account of healthy growth in key sectors including
engineering, gems and jewellery and petroleum products. TPCI Founder Chairman Mohit Singla said that April exports growth is one of its kind optimistic and is a healthy sign, reflecting a balanced overall growth across sectors. Not just agri and pharma but all other sectors have bounced back indicating a big confidence booster and the emergence of a stable
market order, he said in a statement. “I am particularly happy to see the growth of labour-intensive sectors such as carpet, handicrafts, leather, ceramic products and glassware, which shows that demand in the western markets is picking up as these counties are coming out of the pandemic woes gradually,” he added. Engineering goods exports jump sharply in April : EEPC India KO L K ATA : E n g i n e e r i n g g o o d s exports zoomed 234.63% in April 2021 indicating that recovery in outbound trade is well on track and outlook remains positive. While sharp jump in shipments is primarily on account of low-base effect, it has also been supported by robust demand, said EEPC India Chairman Mr Mahesh Desai. “The recent surge in Covid-19 cases has posed risks to the growth but we remain hopeful of continued recovery during the year. The WTO has also revised its projection upward and expects the global trade volume to increase by 8% in
2021,” he said. He emphasized that remarkable performance of the engineering goods sector in the last few months is quite reassuring for exporters who were hit badly by the spread of coronavirus. As per preliminary government data, India’s merchandise exports in April 2021 was US$ 30.21 billion, up 197.03% over US$ 10.17 billion in April 2020 and an increase of 16.03% over US$ 26.04 billion in April 2019. Stating that localised lockdowns and night curfews announced by various state governments to contain a second wave of pandemic could cause shortage of
workers and logistical issues Mr Desai said that they should only be a short-term problem. He noted that some of the macro indicators have shown the economy is well on the path of recovery. For instance, gross GST collection registered record growth in April despite a fierce second wave of the pandemic. Core sector output also rose 6.8% in March. The EEPC Chair man said that expansion in vaccine coverage would mean easing of restrictions and lockdowns which will further support overall demand and consumption.

CMA CGM Group supports India in fight against COVID 19 Pandemic MARSEILLE/NEW DELHI: In the first phase of this mission, a special cargo flight delivered 28 tonnes of medical equipment worth more than 17 crore rupees on 2nd May 2021. This delivery includes 8 world-class, high capacity oxygen generator plants manufactured by the French company Novair. These plants produce medical oxygen from ambient air to supply a hospital’s oxygen system and/or fill cylinders with a flow rate of 20 000 litres per hour. Each plant can continuously supply a 250-bed Indian hospital non-stop for a dozen years. This translates into longterm oxygen autonomy, enhanced resilience to peaks in oxygen demand, savings of up to 15 crore rupees/year for the hospital, and eliminates safety issues related to liquid oxygen storage. The oxygen plants will be delivered to 8 Indian hospitals, 6 in Delhi, one in Haryana and one i n Te l a n g a n a , based on needs as identified by the Indian authorities. In addition to the oxygen plants, this airfreight will also include 28 ventilators and 200 electric syringe pushers which will be distributed to several hospitals based on needs to enhance their ICU capacities. This special cargo flight has been chartered free of charge by the French shipping and logistics group CMA CGM through its air cargo division. Alongside CMA CGM, many other French companies present in India have stepped up to pool their
contributions and resources with the French government’s to carry out this exceptional solidarity mission. This support also falls within the framework of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). On this occasion, the Ambassador of France to India, H.E. Mr Emmanuel Lenain, said: “We stand by India in these difficult times, just as India has always stood by France. In Spring 2020, when French hospitals were facing acute shortages, India provided lifesaving help through the export of critical medical drugs. The French people have not forgotten. India has, in fact, been at the forefront of international cooperation against the pandemic, including through sharing its massive vaccine production capacity with the countries most in need. As President Emmanuel Macron said, solidarity is at the heart of the strategic partnership between France and India. A partnership between sovereign countries that have built an exceptional mutual trust and work together to enhance each other’s strategic autonomy. This is what we have been doing for years in the fields of defence, nuclear energy, space. We know now that healthcare is also a pillar of sovereignty. And that is the meaning of our contribution: each of these oxygen generator plants will make an Indian hospital fully oxygen aatmanirbhar for more than ten years. I believe healthcare can be a new field to develop our strategic partnership, building on our respective strengths. Together, we will prevail.”

AsiaNorth America trade volume increased by 40% year on year. “The global cargo volume also grew year on year in Q4, indicating a steady recovery trend from Q3, which is contrary to 2020’s first half when the cargo volume was seriously impacted by Covid-19.” With a raft of blank sailings introduced shortly after the outbreak of the pandemic, ONE managed to maintain near100% utilisation on sailings on its two largest trades – the transpacific and Asia-North Europe. Total volumes carried on the headhaul transpacific eastbound leg were 2.76m teu, compared with 2.69m teu in 2019, although its freight rates were 30% higher last year.
O n A s i a Europe, 2020 volumes were 1 . 5 6 m t e u , compared with 1,830 teu in 2019. However, revenues were propped up by a 50% growth in freight rates. But the carrier declined to provide a forecast for its 2021 performance. It said: “The pandemic is expected to ease with the global vaccination roll-out. But the resurgence of Covid-19 and possible variants are still a great cause for concern. “The full-year 2021 economic environment will change as the global situation of Covid-19 changes. It is therefore extremely difficult to make a performance forecast and, as such, ONE’s forecasts for full-year 2021 are yet to be finalised.”
