EVERYTHING WE DO IS For Macarthur
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am delighted to share this special edition of our community magazine, celebrating the meaningful achievements we have accomplished together. None of this would be possible without your continued support, our dedicated staff, and our valued community partners.
2024 was a landmark year as we proudly celebrated 50 years of Wests League Club serving the community. Throughout this commemoration, one thing was clear—our passion for the community has driven the strategic direction of our organisation and, in turn, our success. We thrive when Macarthur thrives. Wests has once again achieved a successful trading year, resulting in a record-breaking investment in our community.
Through our robust community engagement strategy, we were able to proudly distrubute more than $4.5million toward community partners, grants, and local initiatives. A significant portion of this—more than $3million—was provided through the ClubGRANTS program, funding 164 grants, supporting 72 organisations, and benefiting 112 sports clubs and associations.
While our roots lie in Rugby League, our commitment to supporting the Macarthur region spans across nearly every sporting code. We recognise the transformative power of sport to enhance health, build meaningful connections, and unite our community. From nurturing grassroots talent to backing elite teams, we are dedicated to investing in local sport. Through grants, sponsorships, and signature events like the Annual Sports Awards and the Sports Volunteer of the Year Awards, we continue to celebrate and empower those who make sport thrive.
As Macarthur’s southwest corridor continues to grow, we remain focused on expanding our venues, enhancing member experiences, and making strategic investments that benefit our community. In line with the strategic plan set by the Board, we are excited to deliver enhanced facilities in the years ahead ensuring that our venues continue to grow and evolve with the needs of our members.
At the core of our success is our dedicated staff—both front line and behind the scenes. Their passion not only creates memorable experiences for our members and guests but also drives our community engagement efforts. We deeply appreciate their commitment and the positive impact they make every day.
To our loyal members—you are at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for your unwavering support and for helping us make a lasting difference in our community. We wish you health and happiness in 2025 and look forward to welcoming you to our venues in the year ahead.
Everything we do is For Macarthur.

Our support spans across the Macarthur region, including the Campbelltown, Camden, and Wollondilly Local Government Areas (LGA’s) prioritising areas such as disadvantage, mental health domestic violence, food relief and of course support for local sport. Check out some of the amazing initiatives we have worked to this year across the region and with a wide range of partners.
One of the highlights this year was our support for the Lomandra Community Pantry, which assists over 2,500 individuals weekly across Campbelltown and Camden. Wests Group Macarthur proudly funded the purchase of a fridge and freezer, enhancing Lomandra’s capacity to store and distribute food from charity partners and local businesses—stock that would otherwise go to landfill. This initiative allows Lomandra to meet the growing demand for food assistance, supporting schools, families, the elderly, individuals experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, and those affected by domestic violence, emergencies, or natural disasters.

The RSPCA rescues animals from neglect, abuse, and abandonment, providing them with medical care, rehabilitation, and finding them new homes through adoption programs.
Thankyou to our volunteered staff who participated in the Corporate Experience Day.
Participants were able to have a tour of the animal shelter, enjoyed a one-on-one animal interaction and provide assistant in general maintenance.
When our chefs decided to swap their aprons for Air Jordans, nobody expected a culinary showdown on the courts! With the helping hands of one of our catering supervisors Judd and our young talent Mia we had two fantastic teams representing Wests. A huge congratulations to Wests, and a huge congratulations to Team A for clinching 1st place in the social finals! While Team B was just a few points shy of victory. Both teams showcased incredible teamwork, encouragement, and companionship throughout the competition. Looking forward to many more friendly competitions in 2025!
We are thrilled to announce Tennis Macarthur was awarded the title of Most Outstanding Venue - Metro Sydney at the 2024 Tennis NSW Awards, located in Leumeah on the same site as The Sherwood Macarthur.
This achievement reflects the collective efforts of many years dedicated by the Tennis Macarthur committee and Wests Group Macarthur.
Mater Dei’s NextPath program is dedicated to students continuous learning and was established to enable and empower Young Adults (YAs) who have an intellectual disability and who have completed their formal schooling. The aim of the program is to engage in a process of self-determination of personally relevant goals in relation to educational and life skills development and Wests is lucky to be a partner in the delivery of the program across our venues. We are super proud of our Mater Dei Workplace Learning Students this year, Matt, Ryan and Lauren who took up roles within Lakeside Golf Club Camden Golf Course, back of house kitchen and bistro service.
A huge shout to our MoBro team for their efforts and to everyone who generously donated to our Movember team in 2024. TeamWests managed to raise a whopping $6,720 to go towards medical research, groundbreaking tests and trials, life-changing men’s health programs and innovative treatments.
Your dough helped save a BRO!
The Wests team was proud to support SES Wear it Orange Wednesday ( WOW Day), donning the Hi-Vis to help support our amazing SES volunteers and colouring our venues Orange.
WOW day, Wednesday 18th May, falls during National Volunteer Week (16-22nd May) and is designed to thank the SES volunteers who generously give their time to help communities during flood and storm emergencies. Wests not only has some very proud Wests members amongst our local SES team but we are also honoured to be the chosen venue in the region for frontline meal support during emergencies.
A group of Team Wests legends participated in the 2024 Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run, while our community team hosted the Chillout Zone.
Congratulations to Wests staff members, Jessica Hogg for placing 2nd in the 5km Female category and to Julie Weatherstone for securing 2nd place in her age group in the 5km Female category!
Wests proudly support the Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run as part of our strategy to support health and wellbeing initiatives within our community.
Wests is proud to support Turning Point Camden Inc. an amazing not-for-profit community welfare and drop-in centre for men and women with a range of services including emergency food relief, mental health and domestic and family violence support, men’s and women’s support groups and more.
In addition to providing support for the pantry program via ClubGRANTS, The Wests team is honoured to host Men’s breakfasts, held every Friday at the centre. This initiative was championed by long time director Roy Warby who is convinced no one cooks a snag like he does (or so he says).
