The diversity of the cuisine in the new menu has been partially inspired by Steve’s recent travels to the US, immersing himself in the vibrant culture and cuisine of California. HISTORY OF BOWLS Why we love this club so much!

Tweed Heads Bowls Club is considered one of the best bowling clubs in the world, but what is it that really keeps us all coming back? When we asked Life and Former Board Member Vince Leather this very same question, he took us on a journey, one that speaks about pride, spirit, and great competition.

“The essence of a great club is its members, and Tweed Heads Bowls Club has never been short of proud and dedicated members willing to volunteer their time.”

Shining through the ages Vince also speaks of camaraderie that makes all the difference. “You meet so many people, locals especially, but also people come here year after year from down south, making more friends than you can even remember names.”

However like many members, Vince has seen the club not only grow in size and spirit but in event reputation as well. In 1995 the richest bowls event in Australia The Ford International Lawn Bowls Open Championship was created. Now known as the Prestige Open Mixed Singles, this competition continues to thrive 20 years later with entrants flocking from all around Australia and New Zealand to compete.

On the board of the junior committee at the time, Vince also worked towards the development of what is now known as one of the biggest Under 18 singles competitions in Australia, The Junior Golden Nugget. Each year Tweed Heads Bowls Club receives more and more resumes of young talented bowlers from all around Australia hoping to compete and strengthen their skills as they go on to become the bowling champions of tomorrow.

CHARITY AUCTION SUCCESS, A NIGHT TO REMEMBER!!!

Tweed Heads Bowls Club hosted the end of ride dinner for Little Wings.

Little Wings is a not for profit organisation supporting children with life threatening illnesses by providing a free ongoing flight service to children and their families living in regional and rural New South Wales. The dinner was a complete success and it raised both awareness and money for this worthwhile charity. The evening was one filled with laughter and tears with Kevin Robinson, Little Wings CEO welcoming everybody with an opening speech filled with a mix of humour and seriousness.

Following the main course, guests viewed an inspirational video which was a reminder of the reason we were there. Much needs to be done and help is always needed. Kevin introduced a local family, who gave us the firsthand experience of the support Little Wings provides. It was an amazingly powerful speech that grabbed the hearts of the entire audience.

The first formality of the evening was the introduction of the riders.

They spoke about their ride, but more importantly about the aim of the ride, which was to raise money.
