From the CHAIRMAN
I begin this report with a sense of gratitude and pride that Ettalong Diggers has only grown stronger over the course of the last few years. Ours is an exceptional club with an extraordinary history and a promising future. Throughout a period of profound political and economic change around the world, our club has been steadfast in our dedication to the members, guests and community we represent.
This year Ettalong Diggers celebrates its seventy year anniversary. Looking back, we have never really commented on the road we have travelled since 1948, or our accomplishments and challenges along the way.

In 1948 Ettalong Beach War Memorial Club opened its doors to the community. Seventy years on and the club has many wonderful stories and memories and is still as important to the community as it was seventy years ago. Of course the original building has changed in many ways, but our values and traditions of supporting veterans and their families and the community itself is still as relevant in 2018.

RSL Clubs in their various forms (Diggers, Legion, ANZAC, Soldiers, Memorial, SS&A, etc) share a common history, a common purpose and a common place in the hearts and minds of Australians. Ettalong Diggers is proud to present our annual Anzac Day Luncheon Show on Wednesday 25th April Entertainment is provided by everyone’s favourite Australian performer LUCKY STARR Lucky Starr is one of the founding members of the Australian Pop Music Industry. A regular on television shows such as Bandstand, Six O’Clock Rock, In Melbourne Tonight, Sing Sing Sing, plus many other shows.
2018 In 1962 Lucky recorded a hit record “I’ve Been Everywhere”, which to date still remains one of Australia’s all-time favourites. Lucky was also the first Australian performer to entertain the troops in Vietnam; in fact paying his own way there and made five subsequent trips into the war zone. On stage joining Lucky is the fabulous Good Morning Ettalong Band.

Sherlock Gnomes - A Whodunit? Drama Workshop Join us to discover the crime, work out the clues, find the suspects and use our powers of deduction to investigate and solve the mystery. Can you crack the case? In the first part of our workshop the group will work together to solve a mystery which has already happened, in the second part we will create our own story and act out the mystery in the final 10 minutes of the workshop - will the parents solve the crime before Sherlock Gnomes?

Clown Doctors are medical clowns; professional performers selected for their high level of improvisation, Clown and other performance skills, as well as their sensitive and caring personal qualities. They are specially trained by The Humour Foundation
to work in the hospital setting. They rely on community donations and fundraising to keep the Clown Doctors program running. So Ettalong Diggers & The Jitterbugs have combined forces to help raise much needed funds for the Clown Doctors to do what they do best‌.bring laughter into the lives of sick children. 100% of the ticket sales will go to The Clown Doctors.
