IN THE COMMUNITY

We love supporting our local communities and taking part in events that raise awareness and funds for causes close to our hearts.

In late November 2020, our Director Kevin Greene and his wife Francis led the St George District Cricket Club’s Annual Charity Walk to help raise awareness and much needed funds for St George & Sutherland Medical Research Foundation. The 20km walk went through Hurstville, Allawah, Carlton, Sth Hurstville, Oatley, Mortdale, Peakhurst, Riverwood and Penshurst before returning to Hurstville Oval for the second half of the T20 double header against Sutherland. Our Vice President Margaret Starks presented a cheque for $5,000 to Kevin in support of the fundraising walk. The donation took our 2020 total to SSMRF to $7,5000.

At Club Central Menai, some of the wonderful team participated in the Walk For Respectful Relationships to stand up and speak out against domestic and family violence in the community. Over 5000 people across Sutherland Shire participated on their own walks and watched a video funded by a $3000 grant from Club Central Menai which included comments from the NSW Police Commissioner, Paul Gallen and Alana Ferguson to name a few.
