The graduating Class of 2025 and the alumni Board of Governors are proud to induct Dr. Will Atkins as Sphinx’s 2025 Honorary Member. Dr. Atkins serves as Penn’s Associate Vice Provost for University
for Student Success and Engagement. As an experienced student affairs professional, with prior positions at the University of Michigan, the University of Florida, and Miami University of Ohio, Dr. Atkins’ portfolio includes overseeing the University’s Cultural Resource Centers and engaging with numerous student organizations across campus to ensure students have access to resources to build community, foster their academic and social networks, and enhance their Penn experience. In selecting Dr. Atkins for membership, the graduating senior class stressed the impact Dr. Atkins has had on many of them, their peers, and Penn’s campus community. Sphinx is honored to welcome Dr. Atkins into our ranks and thank him for being a steadfast supporter to Penn’s students, a true presence at many student life events, a fierce advocate for empowering student leadership, and a dear mentor to students across Penn’s campus. The Paul Miller Leadership Award is given annually in honor of Sphinx alumnus and former University Trustee Paul S. Miller ’83. Paul was the quintessential Sphinx—academically engaged, extracurricularly involved as a beloved member of Mask & Wig, and committed to making Penn a better place. Upon graduating from Penn, Paul went on to become a leading disability rights advocate, scholar, and policymaker. Paul, who had the genetic condition achondroplasia (a type of dwarfism), was a leader in the disability rights movement and expert on anti-discrimination law and international disability rights. In 2010, Paul passed away at the age of 49. Inspired by Paul’s contributions to Penn, the nation, and the world, the Board of Governors selects one member of the graduating Sphinx senior class to honor for having gone above-andbeyond during their time at Penn in service of society.
The alumni Board of Governors is honored to award the 2025 Paul Miller Leadership Award to Euel Kebebew. Euel’s time at Penn has been shaped by his commitment to uplifting student voices academically and in the policy-making process.
