ACHS Drama Club presents 1940s comedy BY PAT COOK For the Daily Corinthian
“It was the kind of night when you caught yourself holding your breath for no reason at all.” So says private eye Harry Monday as he investigates three murders at Peaceful Pines Sanitarium. What did an old tramp, a sea captain and a ventriloquist have in common? Why would lawyer Lilly Dramkean get involved in shady deals? Why did Larramore take a night off on the date of the murders? And, why can noone ever keep track of socialite Mary Tobias, “One of those dames from Who’s Who who don’t know what’s what,” Harry Monday says. Throw in the Indian and the Swede and the Nurse and the confusion multiplies. In this spoof of the old-style private eye movies, the laughs are fast and furious, and the ending will simply kill you. Alcorn Central High School
Drama Club, “Central Stage,” will be performing “Three Murders and It’s Only Monday!” comedy spoof set in the 1940s on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in its auditorium on County Road 246.
