See a need — fill a need. One local church takes this philosophy on as a mission and their latest community service project exemplifies it. The Vertical Church of Corinth has installed their first “Blessing Box as their most recent service project. The box is located in the grassy area beside Pro-nails and Kentucky

Fried Chicken, o U.S. Highway 72 in Corinth. The idea of the Blessing Box is “Take a blessing when you need one, leave a blessing when you can.â€? Vertical Church Pastor Scottie Linton said the idea is for anyone needing a blessing to take from the box and return a blessing (donation) when they can. Among the items stocked

within the box are non-perishable food items, baby items and personal hygiene products. Linton said the items in the box may change as the season changes. Vertical Church Creative/ Worship Leader Amber Phillips said, “We just hope it reaches everybody that needs help but might be afraid to ask for it. We Please see PROJECT | 5

Children will be broken into several dierent groups during camp. Activities scheduled to be oered in-

that demonstrates their communication skills to the public as they take their radios to the field and operate. The Alcorn County ARES will begin setup at 11:30 a.m., but the actual demonstration is set to oďŹƒcially begin at 1 p.m. According to Alcorn County ARES Treasurer/Member Bob Sharpe, the Field Day is a contest of sorts.
