The investigation continues into a Tuesday morning shooting in Glen which left an Alcorn County man shot in the leg and two other local men arrested for aggravated assault.

Biggersville schools are not closing. Questions were answered by Alcorn School District board members on Monday night as Biggersville supporters crowded into the meeting. “The board is not in the mood at this point (to close Biggersville school),” said Superintendent Larry B. Mitchell. “It is an issue I have per-

sonally looked into, but the board is not ready.” Board member Daniel Cooper thanked Biggersville students, teachers and parents for attending the meeting. He said, “I appreciate everyone coming ... you are showing the same love I have for this school.” The District 3 representative added, “As long as I have a voice (and) as long as I’m on this board, there will always be

Corinth is taking a close look at “junk” vehicles in its current cleanup efforts. Per the city code, a residence is allowed to have one vehicle on the property that is being worked on and not in operable condition. “It’s really a problem all over town,” said Code Enforcement Officer Kim Ratliff, “but probably the greater centralization

State and local officials gathered at the renovated former Chadco building Tuesday to celebrate the success of one of Corinth’s growing employers. Avectus Healthcare Solutions’ expansions in recent years have more than doubled the company’s workforce from 150 to 334, and it moved into the renovated industrial building in November. “It is great to have a service industry like Avectus that provides these high-quality jobs in Corinth,” Gov.
