taking the shooting victim’s vehicle. Alcorn County Sheriff Ben Caldwell identified the suspect as Zacharia Tays of Alcorn County Road 793 in the Wenasoga community. He remains in the Alcorn County Jail with no bond set.

He was arrested for the Thursday shooting of 19-yearold Gabriel Perez of Corinth. Perez was shot twice — once in the arm and a glancing wound to his back, said Caldwell. Perez remains in the North Mississippi Medical Center.
