Fundraising effort to give arena a lift BY KIMBERLY SHELTON kshelton@dailycorinthian.com
Lifting the spirits of spectators, members of Leadership Alcorn are doing their part to make the Crossroads Arena more accessible for those in wheel chairs. Comprised of 20 local men and women wishing to become better leaders in their own individual entities as well as in the community, The Alliance class which is offered every other year recently met to discuss their community service project. “We were trying to think of something which would be of benefit to the entire community and after pro-
posing and eliminating many potential projects decided we would like to do something to make the arena more accessible for those who are handicapped or disabled,” said Main Street Corinth Director Brent Johnson. “Many of us in the group have a heart and a passion for helping those with physical disabilities and impairments and noticed that there really isn’t a way to transport them from the concourse to the floor.” Worn beyond repair, the arena’s old chair lift had become a maintenance eyePlease see ARENA | 2
