woman, who got into a car with another female and drove away. That happened three days after a woman was robbed at gunpoint in the store’s parking lot, and police have developed a bit more of a suspect description in the prior case.

JACKSON — Corinth native Sen. Rita Potts Parks was appointed to serve as the chairman of the Business and Financial Institutions standing committee in the Mississippi Senate this week. Parks, who represents Alcorn and Tippah counties, was selected Monday by Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves to serve as chairman of the committee for the next fouryears.

Local racking horse show rides again Horse Breeders Association of America Horse Industry Organization (RHBAA-HIO) – is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at the Crossroads Arena. Admission is $7 with children under six admitted free. “Crossroads Arena is thrilled to host this event again and there is lots of positive energy and buzz in the community,” said Arena General Manager Tammy Genovese. A popular horse event will ride again. The Magnolia Classic Racking Horse Show will make its return to the Crossroads in April. “There will be a little bit of a change in that we have dropped the walking horse class,” said organizer Michelle Glidewell. Corinth’s Rotary Club sponsored the event for 20 years before it ended after 2008. “We have several local people who take part,” said Glidewell.
