Late April of this past year saw the Arkansas Repertory Theatre close its doors. Due to a lack of funds, the organization had to call off the final show of the season, and announce a halt in productions. Amidst a public outcry, moves were made to keep The Rep afloat. New businesses open in recently purchased building in Argenta Newmark Moses Tucker Partners announced in late July the sale and lease of three spaces at 417-419 Main Street, an 8,550 square foot building in North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts and Innovation District. This historic building consists of four lease spaces including two retail spaces on the ground floor and an office and residential unit on the second floor. “Interest in buying and/or leasing commercial or residential space in the Argenta Arts and Innovation District has increased tremendously over the last 18 months with the completion of 160 unit Argenta Flats, almost finished 164 unit Thrive loft apartments, and the announcement of the mixed use Argenta Plaza project scheduled to be finished in 2019 on the 500-600 block of Main Street,” said Greg Nabholz, senior managing director with Newmark Moses Tucker Partners. “The addition of 500 residents, 400 new jobs, and a projected 200,000 new annual visitors to the plaza, and the fact that the entire district is

in a federally designated Opportunity Zone makes Argenta a very attractive location for investors, developers, and new businesses.” Argenta Acquisitions LLC led by John Pemberton purchased the building on Main Street on March 8, 2018 from Larry and Joy Pennington. New leases on the two ground floor retail spaces include 417A Main Street, a 2,050 square foot space, to PHD Salon and Spa, a full service day spa. The salon will offer services including cut, color, massage, skin care, manicures and pedicures. The salon’s goal is to become a Green Circle Salon, which is the world’s first sustainable salon solution to recover and repurpose beauty waste. “I am from North Little Rock originally and this area has a great personal meaning to me,” said owner Melissa Thompson. “There has been so much great development in the area; this seemed like the best choice to start my business. It feels like home.” Next door, 419A Main Street, a 1,650 square foot space, has been leased to Argenta Nutrition. The owners described their concept and why Argenta is the perfect spot for their venture – “The newest hangout, work space, lounge area, and of course a place for the best shakes, teas and aloes. As a part of the neighborhood and as North Little Rock Natives, we knew Argenta was the place for us to continue to share our passion for health and fitness as well as offer nutrition on the go. We are so excited to reach this community with healthy meal and snack options, fitness and
sport support, coaching and, of course, some incredibly happy faces!” With the new lease for the residential space on the second floor adjacent to the existing office tenant, Kip Moore & Associates, this building is 100 percent occupied. The BGR business is celebrating it’s 70th year of business this year as well. As President of the North Pulaski Board of REALTORS®, Daniel oversees all Committee work and fundraisers for great causes like Special Olympics Arkansas and Spokes for Little Folks. He also serves as a Board representative to CARMLS and keeps a watchful eye on the regulations of the MLS. Daniel is a Zone 10 Director for the Arkansas REALTORS® Association. He serves on the legislative and professional development committees for the Arkansas REALTORS® Association and will attend the ARA Convention this year. He attended last year as well.
