The Toastmasters International president, Morag Mathieson, DTM, assumes the role of Chief Guest at OVATION 2024, marking a significant moment in the event's history. A Toastmaster since 2006, Mathieson is a proud member of the Erlangen Toastmasters in Bavaria, Germany.

Throughout her Toastmasters journey, she has held distinguished leadership positions and achieved the esteemed Distinguished Toastmaster designation, demonstrating her commitment to personal and professional growth.

Hailing from Moehrendorf, Germany, Mathieson boasts an impressive background as a self-employed professional development consultant and the chair of the Board of the child sponsorship charity Living Water Germany e.V. Prior to her current roles, she held prominent positions in the pharmaceutical industry, showcasing her prowess in strategy development and service delivery.

Equipped with a master's degree in business administration from The Open University in Milton Keynes, England.

Mathieson brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her various endeavors. She has served on pharmacy services boards of government departments in both Scotland and Northern Ireland and has been instrumental in shaping business concepts for the Alliance Pharmacy.

Mathieson emphasizes the transformative power of Toastmasters, citing confidence growth as the key benefit for members. Through effective communication and leadership development, she believes individuals can make a positive impact in all facets of their lives. continued..

He has served and are serving as Chairman or member of governing boards of several other government and private sector institutions in IT, manufacturing, education, science, finance, construction, and policy making.

He is the recipient of the National Achiever’s Award Engineering 2013 by Lions Clubs International – District 306A1, the IESL President’s Award – 2012 and the Asia’s Education Excellence Award – 2016 for outstanding contribution to education, Sri Lanka Education Leadership Award – 2017 for education leadership, Sri Lanka Education Leadership Award – 2018 for outstanding contribution to education presented by World Education Congress and CMO Asia and “Eminence in Engineering” award – the highest, most prestigious life time award given by the IESL for eminence in practice of engineering.

From 2011 to 2013 he served as International Director of Toastmasters International. In 2014 he was elected as the Second Vice President of Toastmasters International, following year 2015 as First Vice President, and finally DTM Balraj reached the pinnacle of Toastmasters organization, as the International President in 2017-2018.

DTM Balraj was born in Kandy, and was educated at the prestigious Trinity College, Kandy. He later earned an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business Administration.

DTM Balraj is a businessman and philanthropist too. Having joined his family business Gemini Stores Pvt Ltd, he diversified its operations and established Gemtrans Engineering Company in 2000, as the Founder Chairman and Managing Director.

DTM Balraj Arunasalam is the loving husband of Sarumathie and they have two lovely daughters, Avisha and Mahishaa, and an adorable grand son.

A social entrepreneur and life coach, he is also an accomplished public speaker and has won numerous Toastmasters' awards nationally and internationally.

profile : Distinguished Toastmaster Chrishanthi Emmanuel has been a Toastmaster since 2001.

She is a Past President of the Colombo Toastmasters Club and also the Charter President of Pinnacle Advanced Toastmasters Club. She was one of the first Area Governors of District 82 and then moved on to serve as Deputy Lieutenant Governor Education and Training (which today we call Program Quality Director) .

She was also District Chief Judge. All these offices were held when District 82 also included India. Among the other roles she has played are Ovation Contest Chair, Chairperson Leadership Development Pool, and Mentor, Colombo Gavel Club.

By profession Chrishanthi is a Corporate Governance Professional, a fellow member of both the UK and Sri Lankan Associations. During the course of her career, she worked at Aitken Spence & Company PLC and LOLC PLC, where she was Group Company Secretary. She stepped down as Director, LOLC Corporate Services in 2018. She is now starting a second career in training.

As a former president of the Colombo Toastmasters Club and an area governor in Toastmasters International District 82P, he has nurtured communication and leadership skills.

Through educational presentations done at Toastmasters District Conferences in Sri Lanka and India, he has been an inspiration to grow in public speaking and leadership.

Recognized for outstanding contributions, he has received the Achievers Award from the Alumni of Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), highlighting his dedication to impact.

A career highlight was delivering the keynote address at the Queen's Birthday Banquet in Sri Lanka, showcasing excellence.

Later he enhanced his academic credentials with postgraduate qualifications from Japan.

Presently, Jayalath holds the esteemed position of senior lecturer, where his focal point lies in the realm of road safety and the alleviation of traffic accidents.

Since his induction into Toastmasters in 2006, Jayalath's passion for effective communication has thrived, culminating in his pivotal role as a founding member of Sri Lanka's inaugural outstation Toastmaster club.
