Letter From DNE Jelitza DNE: Hello, District 33 Roosters! I am Jelitza Tapia, your District News Editor. For those who went out and celebrated Halloween, I hope you had a great time and kept your distance from other people. I also went trick or treating this year.

I was very impressed by how many people were taking safety precautions, and to anyone that trick or treated this year, a job well done on being safe. Now that it is already November, I am sure that Thanksgiving and Black Friday has been on everyone's mind lately. If that is true, make sure to take a minute to stop and think about who or what you are thankful for. If you are grateful for a person, make sure to tell them how much they mean to you because they will not be here forever. Be sure to spend time with your loved ones this Thanksgiving if you can because life does go by faster than you think. If you do not stop once in a while, you will miss it, and even if you do not celebrate Thanksgiving. Still tell the people you care about that you appreciate them and that you are thankful for them. It never hurts to throw a little extra kindness out there. For many people, Black Friday is already here or is soon arriving, and for those who need something to be grateful for, you can add Black Friday to the list. Now for November's newsletter, I have done a Fall/Thanksgiving theme.

This is the third newsletter I have made for you, and I love making them each month. I always get very excited about what is to come, especially when I can add a holiday theme to it. For the past three months, I feel each newsletter has improved more than the last. I do hope you feel the same as I am very satisfied of how the newsletter came out this month. Remember Roosters, be safe, be careful, and always wear a mask.

November SOSP Our Service Focus FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER

FUNDRAISING IDEAS...

Bake Sale Crab Feed Friends-giving

Partner with you sponsoring Kiwanis Club to host a Crab Feed. Profits can go towards another organization in the Kiwanis Family. Have members volunteer as servers and receive tips for the club you serve! Door prizes can be a part of the event as well! Be creative and make this a scholarship dinner award’s night, Kid’s night, etc.

Host a “Friends-Giving” with the division or club you serve! Officers can bring food and members exchange donations for the food at event. Host a variety of activities such as a movie, service projects, making smore’s, gift exchanges, and more! Invite other branches of the Kiwanis Family! Profits can go towards a charity of your choice for the holidays!

Take over your local Kiwanis Club’s meeting and host a bake sale! Have officers bake some sweets and bring them to the meeting to be auctioned off among the Kiwanis members. You can even combine other activities such as a service project or bring Thank You cards. Build your relations with your sponsoring Kiwanis!

Please make sure to contact the Fundraising Coordinator (Maai Lozano) if you would like to donate an art creation of your own for the auction. You can ask her about the details and share your artwork idea!

Membership Dues are due in a couple of days. By this time you should already have sent the invoice.

If not please make sure to get that done! If you need any help in sending the invoice please reach out to you club advisors or the Lt.Governor as soon as possible. It is very important to register all of our Key Club members and also meet one of our Division 33 goals: On-Time Dues!!
