Letters from LTG and DNE Adriana: LTG Hello D33 Roosters! This is your LTG Adriana Alvarado. I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I know this school year hasn't been ideal, but remember to remain positive because we will eventually see each other again. I am really happy to see you all actively participating in our virtual meeting and activites. Never hesitate to reach out to me of you have any questions.

Spooky October District 33 Roosters! I am Jelitza Tapia your DNE(district news editor). I hope by now that everyone has gotten used to their online school schedule and getting ready for the next quarter! I can not believe that it’s October already. Which means Halloween is on its way and will be right around the corner sooner than you think. Without a second thought, I knew that this month’s newsletter had to be Fall/Halloween themed.

Now Halloween seems to be unsure this year but if you do decide to be out and about this Halloween please keep in mind of social distancing and if your costume does not come with a mask please wear one. Plus maybe adding a mask to your costume can make it even cooler than what it already was. I loved making this newsletter for you guys because I got to expand and use some things that I wouldn’t have been able to use in our regular newsletter. This October newsletter is 1 out of two newsletters I have made for the District 33 roosters and I can say that out of the two this is my favorite newsletter I have made so far. Hopefully, I have made some progress this past month and remember Roosters. Be safe, be careful, and always wear a mask.

SOSP What is SOSP? SOSP is the Spotlight on Service Program. SOSP was started by the Service Projects Committee in 2017 to promote International and District initiatives as well as encourage active participation with specific organizations/initiatives.

Resources Monthly guides provide service project, fundraising, and event ideas for clubs to participate in the initiative. (Ex. June’s “Health and Safety” Infoguide provides instructions and ideas for workshops and seminars with other campus clubs, six feet apart supplies project, and first-aid kit sales)

Submission Process Clubs can submit to the form a summary of their club’s activities based on the month’s theme in order to receive recognition. The submission form can be found under the “Spotlight on Service Program” page under the “Projects” tab on the CNH CyberKey. Pictures should be sent to cnhkc.sp@gmail.com. All submissions are due on the fifth of the following month by 6:00 PM (PST) or 3:00 PM (HST). https://www.cnhkeyclub.org/projects/spotlight-on-service-program

Why should you participate?

The Spotlight on Service Program gives clubs the opportunity to showcase their unique service projects that positively impact their home, school, and community. All the clubs that submit are featured on the CNH Instagram story, and there is a chance to be featured on the District Newsletter.

Old Business In September we announced our August Division Recognitions.

Club of the Month was South Bakersfield, Member of the Month was Estrella (Star), L. Hurtado, the Officer of the Month was Juana Melgoza, Faculty Advisor of the Month was Mr. Vallejo, and finally, the Kiwanis Advisor of the Month was Jim Koontz. We also introduced our latest DLTs last month. Historian Anahi Medina, District News Editor Jelitza Tapia, and Spirit Coordinator Noemi Velez. District 33 also discussed PTP week, division fundraiser updates, and the district/international updates.

For PTP week we spoke about virtual fundraising ideas, facts about the Pediatric Trauma Program, and what our main goal is for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Which is to reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma. The division fundraiser updates were about the number of donations we needed in our Art Auction fundraiser and how all the proceeds will go to PTP week.

District/International updates discussed information about dues, “Sistricts�, PTP week, and the September Newsletter.
