Hi Division 10 South ! My name is Lam Chung, and I will be serving as your 2020-2021 Division News Editor. This will be my first newsletter of the term ! However, I want you to get to know me first ! To start, I am going to be a Junior at Gabrielino High School, and am also on the varsity speech and track team. I have been apart of Key Club since Freshman year, and am honored to be apart of the DLT this year. And I may or maynot be addicted to Animal Crossing and boba… With that being said, I’m excited to serve you all !

LTG’s Message

Hello Blue Turtles! First off, I would like to say, again, that I’m incredibly honored to serve you as your Lieutenant Governor for the 2020-2021 term! I have so many goals and ideas for this new term and I know that together we can accomplish them and more! I hope that in this term, we can have more spirit, more inclusivity and that we remember to never forget the importance of serving and caring. Let’s take Division 10 South to new horizons! It’s going to be a wild year, blue turtles, but I’m so glad that we’ll get to ride this wave together!

Swimming in Service, Jerica Fang Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021

5 Amidst the chaos of quarantine, our division has still been able to keep & maintain events, such as the Giving Thanks Project, several quarantine services (p.8), and the April DCM on Sunday, April 26th. Through the calling platform Discord, members were able to watch the Disney movies Tangled or Onward. Members enjoyed watching these movies with their fellow club members in the comfort of their own home. However, before the movies played, the new Division Leadership Members were announced during the DCM. So, let’s meet them (turn page) !

Quarantine Quarantine Services! Despite the cancellation of physical events, there are some activities that can benefit the community, as well as earn members some volunteer hours As times grow harder, simple tasks as making care kits, cards of gratitude, homemade face masks, and social distancing posters allow us to gain as well as spread awareness ! For the month of April, Wilson Key Club members participated in the QUARANTINE SERVICES! They worked on making cards for health care workers and first responders to boost up their spirits during this stressful time. A member of the club has also created 54 face mask that will be donated to health care workers who are in desperate need of these items.

Project Giving Thanks

9

Doctors, food services, mailmen and other essential workers are putting in hours so that we can stay at home. On April 27, 2020, Gabrielino Key Club collaborated with Arcadia High School’s Leo Club on#ProjectGivingThanks. They made messages to show gratitude to those on the frontlines of this pandemic. Members were encouraged to show their appreciation through videos, artwork, and post-it notes. Each gesture of gratitude earned members 10 service minutes with a limit of three posts per person.
