On Saturday, January 25th, members from Pleasant Grove Key Club and other schools showed up bright and early to support the Lunar New Year Food and Craft Fair! At the startoftheevent, volunteersweretaskedwith packing goodie bags for all of the vendors attending the fair. Soon, we made over 50 of these, and we placed them on each spot where a vendor would be setting up later in theday.Afterwards,Iwas taskedwithblowing upandtyingtogethertheballoons thatwould be used for the balloon arch in the picture spot! At first, I was blowing up all the balloons and tying them together by myself, which provedtobevery slowandtedious becauseI hadtorummagethroughtheballoonbagsto find balloons that were big enough and also similar in size. Later, though, a few other people came to help me tie the balloons together as well as sort them by size and color. This made the process go by a lot quicker, and my group later moved onto assembling the balloon arch and decorating the picture area with paper lanterns, smaller balloons, and other on-theme decorations! Eventually, there wasn’t much else to do until the actual event started, so the other volunteers and I got to relax and check out the vendors while we were waiting. There were plenty of captivating vendors who came to this event, including food booths/trucks, homemade craft stations, 3D printed items, and so much more! Once the eventkickedoff, afewothervolunteersandI were tasked with giving out red envelopes to thelittlekidswhoenteredtheevent.Thistook up the rest of my shift at the event. Overall, this was a super fun event to attend where I wasabletomeetnewpeopleand contribute toalargecommunityexperience!

CONCLAVE + JANUARY DCM

On Sunday, January 26th, Key Club members, officers, and delegates from Division7South,West,andNorth allcame together to witness the election of the new Lieutenant Governor’s for the 20252026term! At the beginning of the event, the divisions split off into their three sections.Division7Southstartedwiththeir January DCM. During this time, we were given club and division updates and got to work on some service projects before our division’s conclave. I spent the extra time making dog toys out of old t-shirts and talking with my club members. Afterwards, we moved onto our Division’s conclave–the process where our new lieutenant governor would be elected! There were three candidates for the position, meaning there would be two rounds ofvoting.Duringthefirstround,we wereabletolistentoallthespeechesand ask each prospective LTG questions. After this, the two delegates from each club were allowed to confer with the rest of their club about the votes they were casting. Following the discussion with my club’s delegates, all of the delegates casted their votes. Subsequently, we repeated the same process until the electionwasover. Then, wewereushered into the cafeteria, where we were given pizza for lunch and were able to completemoreserviceprojects. Finally, all divisionswerebroughtintothemainroom where allofthenewLieutenantGovernors for the next term were announced! Altogether, it was a truly special experience to get to see the process of our division leaders getting chosen and I’menthusiasticforthenextterm!
