Dikwena, Arrows aim to protect record Newly promoted PSL side Golden Arrows have done well so far in the top flight football and will hope to keep on their winning string when they visit Platinum Stars at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday, September 2, for their Absa Premiership encounter. Kick-off is at 7:30pm. Both the teams will be coming to this match with their heads high as they remain undefeated this season. Arrows played to a goalless draw against fellow promoted team Jomo Cosmos on August 23 after having opened the PSL season with a win against the University of Pretoria. Arrows coach Serame Letsoaka said he is happy with how his side has started the league and says they just need to be more clinical in front of goal. “We didn’t click in our last match against Jomo Cosmos. We need to work on being a little more ag-
gressive and have some width going forward,” said Letsoaka. “We still have to work harder with our offensive phase of the game. The build up from the back is effective and entries in the final third are also efficient. “We seem to be too much in a hurry in the final third, we lack patience and urgency. Improved mobility and accurate passing seems to be our biggest challenge. “We need to capitalise on using the width.” The Rustenburg side, on the other hand, opened their campaign with a goalless draw at home to Mamelodi Sundowns. Stars played to a second successive draw when they held Bloemfontein Celtic 1-1 away on August 23. Coach Cavin Johnson said his team is in good shape and he has been impressed with the start so far. “We off course would have loved to get the three points in our previous match, but things didn’t go our way. I am happy with our performances so
far and if we continue like this I am sure we will get the desired results,” said Johnson. Dikwena are placed 11t h on the Absa P r e miership log w i t h two points from as many matches.
