DIRECTING TEAM

Tyler Hutchinson, Director

Tyler is a passionate theater enthusiast who loves God and everything related to CYT! He’s been fortunate enough to travel across the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa to perform, lead worship, preach and teach. Tyler has worked in community, regional, and professional theaters, but it was CYT that stole his heart back in 2012. Starting out as a teacher, he eventually became the Artistic Director for CYT Indianapolis before relocating to Dallas and founding CYT Dallas. His main goal is to teach students how to use their talents to glorify God.

Kate Gesch, Stage Manager

Kate Gesch holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management and Musical Theatre from Eastern Michigan University, where she stage managed for the theatre and dance departments. Her resume includes Studio Manager for Dance Gallery Studio/Peter Sparling Dance Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Stage Manager for the Undermain Theatre in Dallas, Texas, and Box Office/Promotions Manager for the Department of Dance and Theatre at University of North Texas. Since joining CYT Dallas in 2016, Kate has served as Managing Director, Stage Manager, Teaching Artist and Camp Director. She directed the MainStage show Alice: A Wonder-full New Musical.

Rebekah Williford, Choreographer

Rebekah Williford is a Dallas native whose early love for the stage brought her to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in New York City where she graduated as the valedictorian for the class of 2019 with a degree in Film & Television Performance. She began performing from a young age, dancing from age 5 to 18 in a variety of styles: ballet, tap, jazz, modern, & contemporary. In 2016, she attended an acting workshop that lit a match to pursue theatre. By 2017, Rebekah had earned a scholarship to attend the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. Since then, she has worked on both film and stage projects. Short films include: “Mr. String”, “The Door”, “Dream Catcher” and “Eve Was Star”. Stage credits include “Towards Zero” with Richardson Theatre Center.

When she isn’t spending time on her own projects, Rebekah is leading and teaching others how to take ownership of the stage. When Rebekah has time off, she can be found next to a pool with a good book or spending time with her husband, son, and puppy.

DIRECTING TEAM

Elise Dolan, Resident Choreographer

Elise Dolan is originally from Rockford, Illinois. She has trained in various types of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Modern. Prior to moving to Dallas, she danced at Steps to Grace Dance Academy and performed with their ensemble team for 7 years. Elise was involved with CYT Rockford and performed in musicals at her high school and a community theater. She trained and toured the country with Ingredients Dance Company from 2010-2012. She has also taught dance for 6 years at A Time to Dance Studio in Hickory Creek, TX. Elise has been with CYT Dallas since the start and has loved every minute of it! She is always thrilled to get the chance to instruct others on how to grow in their movement and stage presence and to help them learn what God has called them to do with their gifts and talents. And most importantly how to worship God in everything they do! She loves being a part of the CYT family and is excited to continue to watch it grow!

Karlee Cummings, Music Director

Karlee Cummings began her musical studies on the piano at age five, and the violin at age eleven. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, a B.A. in Music, and a B.S. in Music Education. She has performed in masterclasses, concerts, and orchestra pits, including with the UConn Symphony Orchestra, UConn Concert Choir, and various chamber ensembles. Karlee has experience leading the Faith Tabernacle Youth Band and Choir, and enjoys serving on the worship team at Victory Life Church. She currently teaches general elementary music at Mount Auburn STEAM Academy.

Brennen Brock, Intern Director

Brennan is a teacher, director, and writer, Above all, he enjoys Jesus, acting, listening to classic rock, and cooking. He is a CYT Dallas alumni and is honored to have the opportunity to participate with the CYT family in producing a show so near to his heart. Psalm 42-43

Abigail is so excited to be a part of Matilda. This is Abigail’s first show with CYT Dallas. In her free time, Abigail enjoys singing, dancing, baking, playing soccer, and traveling with her family. Abigail is especially excited to be performing in Matilda along with her big sister.

Adam has been known to preform in the occasional CYT show from time to time. Various sources have labeled Adam as a “pretty swell guy”, and they recommend you get to know him. Adam has also been quoted as saying he really hopes you enjoy the show.

Addison Hahn is a sixth grader at Forestwood Middle School in Flower Mound. She has appeared in Off Their Rockers playing the role of grandmother. Along with theatre, she also enjoys playing volleyball and listening to music in her free time. Addison is thankful to be a part of such an amazing program!

Meet Addyson, a 12-year-old with a love for music and a knack for accents. With extensive experience in recording children’s music and three years of dance under her belt, she brings energy and talent to every performance. When not captivating audiences, she enjoys hanging out with friends and adores her dog Bailey. Addyson’s zest for life shines both on and off stage, promising an unforgettable musical experience!

Albert is 11-year old and is in 5th grade at Founder’s Classical Academy of Corinth. Albert is part of Achiever’s Gymnastics Boys Team. He has also performed for 5 years in Nutcracker with Festival Ballet of North Texas as Fritz, Russian Boy, Soldier, and Party Boy. This is his second show with CYT.

Amelia, 10, is excited to debut in her first musical production with CYT. Offstage, Amelia enjoys horseback riding, and spending time with her dog and her leopard gecko. This production is a new adventure for her, one she embraces with enthusiasm. Amelia is grateful for her family’s support and encouragement in this new endeavor.

This is Arabella’s 8th show with CYT Dallas and she is both excited and annoyed to be performing alongside her little sister. When Arabella is not memorizing lines or songs, she’s playing bass on her band The Metallic Monkeys, auditioning for movies, building Lego worlds, skateboarding or riding her bike around the neighborhood with the local bike gang.

Hello! My name is Charlotte Moody. This is my first production and I’m so excited to be performing with CYT!! I love putting on plays and skits with my siblings and friends. Chase loves everything to do with theater! The acting, the singing, the time with friends, but most of all the challenge. He has appreciation for all of the roles he has had from ensemble to named cast. Chase enjoys reading, learning and playing instruments (piano, guitar and cornet). He is learning to live a life led by Christ and hopes you see God’s love overflowing from him.

Chloe Hoernemann is in sixth grade at Huffines Middle School in Lewisville where she is active in Theatre and Choir. She is also a member of Praiz Kids at Northview Baptist Church where she has participated in several musicals. She loves CYT and has enjoyed being a part of many musicals including Willy Wonka and Nemo. She is thrilled to be a part of Matilda.

This is Claire’s first show at CYT and she is happier than ever to perform in Matilda!! Claire is 13 years old and a 7th grader at Killian Middle School in Lewisville. When Claire isn’t acting, she enjoys playing her flute, hanging out with friends, and listening to Taylor Swift on repeat. Enjoy the show!! :)

Corinne Matthews is thrilled to join her second CYT show after her star turn as “little lady who Charlie points at” in The Music Man. She loves Matilda and used to fall asleep to “Naughty” as a baby.

Daniel Ivey, 16 Trunchbull

Daniel Ivey is currently 16 years old and has been thankful to call performing his passion. He has been performing in theater for over 10 years. This is his 5th CYT show and he hopes to have many more. Daniel hopes to have a future in the performing/theater industry.

This is Daphne’s third CYT show and her first non-junior show. Daphne brings her joy and exuberance into everything she does. When she’s not at CYT she can be found painting, doing crafts, or snuggling her cats.

My name is Delphine but I like to go by Della. I am 12 years old. I love being a part of CYT. In my spare time I compete in Fencing tournaments, study Mandarin, and improving my crochet skills.

Denver Queen, 12

Big Kid (Blue Ensemble)

Denver Queen is beautiful inside and out. Her heart is made of gold and she brings hope to every room she walks in. This is her 5th CYT show. She loves spending time with her family, and singing, drawing, and reading. Denver is a light on stage and is a joy to watch.

Eliza Glaser, 14

Big Kid (Red Ensemble)

I’m Eliza! I’ve been in CYT for a year and it is so much fun! This is my 2nd show with CYT. In my free time I like to write and design my own shows. I also like to paint, sing, and knit.

Ella has been watching shows & musical theatre since she was very little thanks to her big sisters love for performing! Now it’s her turn! She loves singing, dancing, acting and especially musicals! Ella lived oversees for 4 years and now has a love for culture, the arts and languages. She has been in dance classes most of her life and is really excited to be part of theatre, especially at CYT and the big family here!.

Ella has attended CYT productions to watch friends perform since moving to TX in 2020 and is so excited to be part of such an amazing show! Having started with small productions of The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo Jr, Ella cannot wait to help bring Matilda to life on stage. When not singing, Ella is usually lost in drawing, sewing, crafting, or riding/showing her horse.

Emerson Hodges is 17 years old and is thrilled to perform in her first CYT show! Her last show was Tuck Everlasting at Artisan Center Theatre where she played Winne Foster. Emily Alexander, 12

Little Kid (Blue Ensemble)

Emily Alexander is thrilled to perform in her first major CYT production after her experience in Finding Nemo Jr. in Summer Stock 2023. She played Mrs. Fezziwig in A Christmas Carol through COACH Rockwall, her homeschool co-op, and Olivia in The God Squad for First Baptist Church Forney. When not singing, dancing, and acting around the house, she’s usually reading a book.

Hi, I’m Emma. I’m 11 and so excited for Matilda. I have been in more than 10 shows including CYT’s Willy Wonka and Music Man. It has been so fun at CYT and I’m so excited to do another show. This is Georgia’s 5th show with CYT Dallas. It’s almost impossible for her to not sing or at least hum at all times of the day. The Alft home is NEVER quiet! Ha! When she’s not working on memorizing songs and dances, she’s playing guitar in her band The Metallic Monkeys, putting on fashion runway shows in her living room or riding her bike around the neighborhood with the local bike gang.

Hannah is an eclectic artist with a gremlin-esque desire to accumulate interesting things (including a metal sculpture of an armadillo and a lamp in the shape of a toaster). Although she has been described as a silly goose in the past, she is not a bird (a common misconception). Matilda is Hannah’s 13th show within the branches of CYT. When he’s not memorizing lines and songs, he’s playing bass in his band Bellaire, collecting World War II gear to use when attending his reenactment events or tending to the family chickens.
