NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Welcome to CYT’s production of The Little Mermaid!
At its heart, The Little Mermaid is a story of redemption, royalty, and grace. Ariel’s journey reflects a deep longing we all share—to discover our identity, purpose, and place. In her quest, she reminds us of a powerful truth from 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” Like Ariel, we are cherished by God, called to embrace the fullness of who we are, and reflect His grace to a world in need.
In a world that often pressures us to change or sacrifice pieces of ourselves to feel worthy, Ariel’s story affirms that everything we need is already within us. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, bearing a royal identity that calls us to live boldly and with purpose.
As you journey with Ariel tonight, I hope you feel the splendor of her underwater kingdom and, more profoundly, the transformative power of love and grace. May her story inspire you to explore the depths of your own identity and walk confidently in the beauty of God’s grace.
