NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR High School Musical is a show that I have grown up watching.

I am known for liking the cheesy Disney Channel movies and shows, so I was very excited to have this show be my directing debut. This show/movie is very popular! I mean, who didn’t love Zac Efron and his beautiful eyes. But something that stood out to me as I read the script was that under all the cheesiness there are deeper issues that I think we still face today and that the kids right now are definitely going through. There were 3 words that came to mind when I truly thought about this show. Those words are Identity, Community and Bold.

Identity is a huge struggle in our culture today. The world is telling us who we need to be, what to look like, and who not to be. Don’t do this. Do that. Dress like this. That’s not “in” anymore. It can be exhausting and confusing. It’s hard for anyone, but especially for kids, to figure out who they truly are and who God called them to be. In High School Musical, you see a lot of the characters putting their identity in whatever they excel at. And when that gets messed up and taken away, they no longer know who they are.

Community is another big one. “We’re All In This Together,” right? At the start of the show, the school is split into little communities/cliques. They only hang with those that are like themselves. But by the end, they are all one big community. We need a community to help us grow and build us up. And our differences challenge those around us to do new things and to grow. If we were all the same, the world would be pretty boring.

And then there’s Bold. A lot of these characters had to make some bold choices that pushed them outside their comfort zones. I think all of these things apply to us today.

Who are we putting our identity in? God or other people and things? Who are we surrounding ourselves with? People who are building us up or tearing us down? And are we making bold choices? Ones that, even though they push us out of our comfort zone, help make the world a better place?

I hope that as you watch this show, even with all its cheese, that the Lord would reveal to you your Identity and who he has called you to be, that he would bring you a Community of people that love you and build you up, and that you would step out of your comfort zone and make Bold choices even if they are hard or against the norm. Because it’s better when We’re All In This Together.

Elise Dolan is originally from Rockford, Illinois. She has trained in various types of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Modern. Prior to moving to Dallas, she danced at Steps to Grace Dance Academy and performed with their ensemble team for seven years. Elise was involved with CYT Rockford and performed in musicals at her high school and a community theater. She trained and toured the country with Ingredients Dance Company from 20102012. She also taught dance for six years at A Time to Dance Studio in Hickory Creek, Texas. Elise has been with CYT Dallas since the beginning, and she has loved every minute of it! This is the 14th show she has had the honor of choreographing for them and her first one to direct. She is always thrilled to get the chance to instruct others on how to grow in their movement and stage presence and to help them learn what God has called them to do with their gifts and talents. And most importantly, how to worship God in everything they do! She loves being apart of the CYT family and is excited to continue to watch it grow!

She wants to thank her husband, Tim, for supporting her through all of this and to her daughter, Clementine, for being cute. ;) I love you both!

Rebekah Williford is a Dallas native whose early love for the stage brought her to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in New York City, where she graduated as the valedictorian for the class of 2019 with a degree in Film & Television Performance. She began performing from a young age, dancing from age 5 to 18 in a variety of styles: ballet, tap, jazz, modern, & contemporary. In 2016, she attended an acting workshop that lit a match to pursue theatre. By 2017, Rebekah had earned a scholarship to attend the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. Since then, she has worked on both film and stage projects.

Short films include: Mr. String, The Door, Dream Catcher and Eve Was Star. Stage credits include Towards Zero with Richardson Theatre Center. When she isn’t spending time on her own projects, Rebekah is leading and teaching others how to take ownership of the stage. She currently resides in Dallas, Texas, where she teaches and directs high school theatre. When Rebekah has time off, she can be found next to a pool with a good book or spending time with her husband and fur baby, Hazel.

ARTISTIC TEAM Kate Gesch, Stage Manager Kate Gesch holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management and Musical Theatre from Eastern Michigan University, where she stage managed for the theatre and dance departments.

Her resume includes Studio Manager for Dance Gallery Studio/Peter Sparling Dance Company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Stage Manager for the Undermain Theatre in Dallas, Texas, and Box Office/Promotions Manager for the Department of Dance and Theatre at University of North Texas. Since joining CYT Dallas in 2016, Kate has served as Managing Director, Stage Manager, Teaching Artist and Camp Director. She directed the MainStage show Alice: A Wonder-full New Musical.

Amber Holden, Musical Director Amber Holden, a native of Arkansas, is a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas. Holding a Bachelor of Music Education degree, she has taught Vocal Music at the junior and high school levels for nineteen years. Amber’s choirs have performed in Branson, Missouri, as show openers for The Twelve Irish Tenors, The Haygoods and SIX, and in Dallas, Texas, at “Celebration of the Arts.” UIL competitions have always been a top priority to this director, and her choirs have consistently received superior ratings in both performance and sightreading. She has been recognized as the Junior High Director of the Year for five years and was chosen as the 2016 Sherwood “Educator of the Year,” in Sherwood, Arkansas. She has also been a presenter at professional conferences and is an active adjudicator at Arkansas Choral Performance Assessments. She resides in Frisco with her husband of seventeen years, David. They have two children, Jackson (15), Elaina (11), a couple of Schnauzers, and two cats. Amber is active in her church, Victory Life Church of Corinth, as the adult choir director and praise singer. This is her third show with CYT, and she has loved every minute of it!

Abbie is thrilled to be participating in another show with CYT. She previously performed in Beauty and the Beast and Junie B. Jones. She is particularly excited about High School Musical! Abbie attends McKamy Middle School and is thankful to have the opportunity to be back on stage, both in school and with CYT.

ADDISON FIPPINGER, 11, Skater, Thespian Addison is 11 years old and loves to sing, dance, and act.

She has been taking classes with CYT for almost two years, and prior to that, she was on a competitive dance team.

This is her first time participating in a CYT production, and she is so excited to be a part of the show.

ALEYA GAINES, 13, Mongo, Thespian Aleya is an 8th grade homeschooler and is excited to perform in her second CYT show! She has loved all the classes she has been able to take at CYT and all the friends she has been able to make. Outside of CYT, Aleya loves crafting, skateboarding, and being a part of her youth group’s praise team.

ALI PARASKEVOPOULOS, 17, Ms. Darbus Ali is 17 years old, and she is (somehow) a senior at Flower Mound High. She has been performing since she was three and has been in everything from Les Mis to The Little Mermaid. She spends pretty much all her free time with her two chihuahuas and desperately wishes dogs were allowed in the theater. This is her second CYT show, and she is super excited for you to see it.

ARABELLA ALFT, 8, JV Skater Arabella is so excited to be a part of the CYT Dallas Production of High School Musical! This is her second show with CYT. When Arabella isn’t singing and dancing, she loves to read and draw and play dress up with her little sister Georgia. We love her spirit and passion for the arts, we could not be more proud. “Though she be but little, she is fierce,” - Shakespeare 14

CAST BIOS ATLEE STAKES, 11, Cathy, Skater, Thespian Atlee is a 6th grader at McKamy Middle School. High School Musical is her 9th performance with CYT. Her favorite role was playing Tessie in the CYT production, Annie. When she is not on stage, Atlee enjoys reading, cooking/baking, and animals including Red Pandas. Atlee thanks all the CYT team members for their efforts in putting this great musical together.

AVERY GOODWIN, 11, Alaina, Skater, Thespian I’m so excited to perform in my 6th production with CYT Dallas. So far, I have performed in The Lion King Jr., Junie B. Jones, Cinderella, Tuck Everlasting, and Shrek. CYT is the BEST place ever, and I hope you have an incredible time watching the show! Ephesians 2:10

BRENNAN BROCK, 18, Jason, Jock

Brennan has loved theatre, the creative arts, and music as long as he can remember. Homeschooled his entire life, Brennan spent many years in competitive Judo and wrestling before joining CYT. He has been playing piano for 12 years and plays the bass recorder. Brennan has been in cast in Newsies, Matilda, Aladdin, & Cinderella, and has performed numerous Shakespeare plays.

Brennan is thankful for the opportunity to perform with CYT and the dedication of the team and parents that make it possible. 2 Cor 4, the whole chapter.

BROOKE ROSENBERRY, 14, Ripper, Thespian Brooke has been an actress/singer since 2013. Originally from California, she has performed with the following organizations: Center Stage Theater, South Coast Repertory, Pacific Conservatory, So Cal Children’s Choir, Christian Youth Theater in Dallas. Her school performances include annual productions at Our Lady Queen of Angels Newport Beach and at The Highlands School in Dallas.

Hi, I am a sophomore at KCA in Anna. Out of school, I enjoy running, being outdoors, and spending time with my friends and family. I just moved here from Tennessee, and I did CYT Nashville there! This is my second CYT production, and I have also been in other shows out of CYT! I would like to thank my family for always being so supportive of me and watching me grow as an actress.

I would also like to thank all the stage helpers and directors for making this musical possible! I can’t wait for the show, and I hope you enjoy it!

CAST BIOS ELANA EBENSBERGER, 17, Sharpay

Elana is a senior at Coram Deo Academy. She has been in love with CYT for about five years. When not here, you can find her assisting or dancing at A Time to Dance Studio, co-teaching a musical theatre class for homeschoolers, leading worship at Irving Bible Church, or crying about her physics homework. She is so, so thankful for CYT and the incredible leadership here.

EMMA ROGERS, 16, Gabriella Montez Emma is a sophomore at Coram Deo Academy. Her experience at CYT includes Wizard of Oz (ensemble), Peter Pan (Wendy), Lion King Jr. (Nala), Junie B. Jones (ensemble), and Tuck Everlasting (ensemble). She loves the community and passion in CYT and the focus on the Lord. She is so excited to be back with CYT giving the glory to God!

FAITH RACHANER, 17, Kelsi Neilson Faith is so excited to be in her 15th CYT show! She is a senior who enjoys piano, ukulele, and babysitting. She is so grateful for her amazing CYT family and any opportunity to perform for the glory of God. Faith would like to thank Jesus, the inspiring Directing Team, her family, and her sweet friends for keeping her motivated. Psalms 46:5

GABY BAACK, 17, Brainiac Hello! My name is Gaby, and I am 17 years old! I live with my three older sisters and younger brother. I am in my senior year of high school, and I love reading, listening to music, playing outside, and much more. I have done theater for six years, but this is my first CYT production. I am super excited to see what God has planned for me!

Gianna is so grateful to be a part of CYT Dallas for the second time!

She has passionately been performing in musical theater since she was 5 years old and has had roles such as Molly from Annie (Revolting Children), Narrator (Cinderella), Adelaide (Jack and the Beanstalk), Thing 1 (Seussical) and Villager (Shrek). Gianna is a global Math champion and a human calculator who also plays the ukulele, speaks three languages, takes voice & piano lessons and was a pre-pandemic globetrotter. She loves spending time with her family and friends and keeping her mommy busy. Gianna enjoys playing with her Barbies and drawing, but most of all, she really, really enjoys talking!

Graham is thrilled to be in another CYT Dallas production!

Graham is a junior at Flower Mound High, and a proud member of the varsity choir. When he’s not singing or acting, his pastimes include gaming, reading, hanging out with or arguing with his twin brother, and eating. Graham wishes to thank all his family and friends for their support.

HANNAH WRIGHT, 16, Thespian Hannah is a junior in high school. She is thrilled to be doing her second show with CYT. She loves playing guitar and ukulele, singing, baking, and making people laugh. She is very grateful for the opportunity to serve Jesus through CYT, and singing in her church’s student choir and the worship team at her school.

HannahGrace is 17 years old and a senior. High School Musical is her 4th production with CYT, and she has enjoyed every minute of it! When not performing, HannahGrace enjoys reading old, fat books, painting, and writing whimsical nature-inspired poetry. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support, Mrs. Watanabe for helping her with dance, Mrs. Noel for guiding her voice, and God for all his love and goodness to her. CAST BIOS HUNTER SMOUSE, 14, Zeke, Jock Hunter is 14 years old. High School Musical will be his 10th show. He loves to read, sing, dance, and play video games.

Hunter has enjoyed all the friends he has made through CYT. When Hunter grows up, he wants to live in Australia in a tiny house with his Labrador retriever and work as a veterinarian while traveling the world.

JOSHUA LEVI EVEREST, 16, Troy Bolton Josh currently sings on the RockPointe Youth worship team.

He also serves with the lower elementary classes at church.

From the moment Josh began talking, he has been singing.

He loves CYT, being around people, and pointing others to God.

KENNA FRUCCI, 15, Mrs. Tenny, Thespian Kenna is excited to participate in her very first CYT performance! She has a passion for theatre and especially musicals! Kenna also loves spending time with her family and friends and attending events at RockPointe Church.

LANDRY SCHADLE, 12, Cheerleader, Jock Landry is a homeschooled 7th grader who is thrilled to be a part of High School Musical! In her spare time, Landry enjoys playing the piano and guitar, dancing around the kitchen, traveling, reading, and figuring out how to learn something new every day. CAST BIOS LAURA KOGA, 12, Cheerleader, Jock This is Laura’s first show with CYT! She has done dance for eight years and is so excited to dance in a show! She can’t wait to do more with CYT!

LEAGRACE WATANABE, 9, JV Thespian LeaGrace is 9 years old and in 4th grade. High School Musical is her first show with CYT. She also participated in CYT’s Jungle Book summer camp. She likes singing, dancing and playing the trumpet and piano. She also loves animals, especially her pet snake, Coco. She hopes you enjoy the show!

LEAH THORNTON, 11, Thespian Well... I’m STILL living with my parents this year. One of my favorite things to do is writing ToDo lists and then complete those ToDo lists. I can also rock an acoustic guitar and a mic. This is my fourth show, and I’ve enjoyed each production more and more. Also... My dad made that set.

LILLIAN GRACE DUNCAN, 13, Kratnoff, Brainiac

Lillian has been a performer and has had a song to sing since birth. CYT is her happy place, and she’s forever grateful to have found such an amazing theater family. She loves singing, acting, dancing, and growing and stretching herself. She’s an avid reader and a free spirit. She’s both intelligent and creative, compassionate and bold, witty and kind. She would like to thank her mom the most for writing this bio and her dad for his mad tap-dancing skills.

CAST BIOS LONDYN MARR, 9, JV Jock Londyn fell in love with musicals when she was cast in Annie Junior last year at her school, Harvest Christian Academy. This is Londyn’s 2nd semester with CYT, and her family feels so blessed to have found this amazing program! Londyn also loves art, cheerleading, dance, and gymnastics. Londyn plans on becoming the President of the United States when she grows up.

LYDIA GESCH, 14, Cheerleader, Jock Lydia is excited to perform in her 14th CYT Dallas Show.

Favorite roles include JoJo in Seussical and Winnie Foster in Tuck Everlasting. She also really enjoys creating interesting ensemble characters and growing in her dance abilities.

She sings in the Chamber Singers at her high school and is a member of the Student Council.

LYDIA TRIMBLE, 12, Jackie Scott This is Lydia’s third show with CYT Dallas. She hails from Waco (minus a few months in Uganda where she was born), where she was a part of CYT Waco for three years.

Singing, dancing, and spending time with friends bring her so much joy! Playing the flute is her newest adventure, and she loves it!

MACKENZIE MUSSELL, 11, JV Skater I have been singing, dancing, and acting for as long as I can remember. I love how fun CYT shows and classes are. This will be my 2nd year with CYT, and my 2nd show. I am very exited!

MADELINE PEUGH, 12, JV Brainiac Madeline is a homeschooler starting 7th grade. She enjoys dancing, singing, and crafting with her friends. This is her first CYT production.

CAST BIOS MAREN KING, 17, Brainiac Maren is thrilled to be a part of this cast in her first show at CYT! She is currently a homeschooled junior, and acting on stage is her greatest joy. Her past roles include Belle in Beauty and the Beast Jr., Flounder in The Little Mermaid Jr., Ingrid in Dark Road, and Sven in Frozen Jr., all performed at Denton Calvary Academy.

MIKAELA MORELAND, 11, JV Thespian Mikaela has performed as a Silly Girl in Beauty and the Beast, Rose in Alice in Wonderland, and Jane (John) in Peter Pan, some church productions, and in CYT’s The Masked Performer summer production. Mikaela would like to thank her family and friends for their support and encouragement.

PARKER JANE ROBERTS, 9, JV Brainiac Parker Jane is 9 years old and is in the 4th grade at Garden Ridge Elementary. Parker has had a love for singing and acting since she was first walking and talking. This is her second show with CYT.

PAYTON WILLIAMS, 12, Thespian Payton is 12 years old and a student at Forest Wood Middle School in Flower Mound. High School Musical is Payton’s 5th CYT production. Payton would like to thank the directors for their guidance and grace during the production. In her spare time, Payton enjoys reading, being with her friends, and time at the beach.

RACHAEL SIMS, 16, Taylor McKessie

Rachael is a 16-year-old junior at Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville. While this is her first production with CYT, she is no stranger to the stage. Rachael has been in many productions at The Campus Theatre in Denton, including Annie, Mary Poppins, Cats, Fiddler on the Roof, The Secret Garden, and many others. She has also been in many productions of The Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker in various roles, including but not limited to, Clara’s Friend, Ballerina Doll, Reed, and Garden Attendant. In her free time, Rachael enjoys music, books, and film. She is so exited to perform with CYT for the first time, hopes the audience enjoys the show, and wishes all the actors a thoroughly broken leg.

CAST BIOS SARAH ROBINSON, 10, JV Skater

Sarah is a native North Texan with an affinity for her stuffies, sports, and spending time with friends. Multiple opportunities to perform worship and Bible story skits for preschoolers blossomed her passion for singing, acting, piano, and most importantly, Jesus! Sarah currently attends Argyle Intermediate School and The Well Community Church in Argyle.

TAINA KOGA, 15, Cheerleader, Jock Taina is a sophomore at Flower Mound High School. She has done CYT for 2 years, making this her 7th show with them! She loves the community she’s formed here and is excited to do many more shows!

YLEANA STANPHILL, 16, Martha, Brainiac I love Jesus and my family. I’m extremely fond of my friends, and I can’t imagine life without any of them. I like dancing, fruit, and really soft blankets. This is my 6th show with CYT and it’s a wonderful family that I’m incredibly grateful to have found. Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me, especially my family.
