The Gelato Collection is made by the rug artisans in a small village outside Varanasi in India called Daniyalpur. Rug weaving is often the bloodline to the small communities and still is considered a cottage industry in many parts of India and Nepal. But what drew us to Daniyalpur is the pride and the integrity that is evident in every design in Gelato Collection.
The heart of Mafi rugs has always been to build a bridge between this century's old eastern tradition and Western fashion.
