Project The Dwelling

Renders Enscape & Affinity

The building is organised around accessibility and welcome. Public spaces anchor the ground floor so the community can enter without barriers. Cultural spaces form the heart of the building, while quieter offices and support areas sit above, enabling activity without losing privacy.

The building sits in a tree-filled site and is organised around a central communal area- the social heart of the building. It is then divided into retreat, counselling pods to the left, and clinical, consultation rooms to the righ side of the building.

Tectonic Touchstone I created a thermal and tactile wall fragment for sickle cell patients. The physical artefact was a layered wall section with a face designed to be touched. This wall fragment is a representative part of the sickle cell rehabilitation centre I am designing in my Design Studio Project. Sickle cell patients are very sensitive to temperature fluctuations so Architecture must stabilise temperatures and provide tactile comfort.
