u a r b y w l L h c a B f l Ce In September a new series of Llwybrau Celf Bach started in Neuadd Aberdyfi, Plas Glyn y Weddw and Storiel. Professional artists Jane Barraclough, Eleri Jones and Tess Urbanska lead monthly sessions for children aged 7 - 11 exploring a range of art techniques and materials. Amazing artwork has been created, we are truly impressed with the creative skills of our young groups!

u a r b y w l L f l Ce Funded by Arts Council Wales, Llwybrau Celf leads on from Llwybrau Celf Bach to encourage and inspire young people age 11 - 14 to explore their creativity. We aimed to be as inclusive as possible both with our artists and our participants to give opportunities to all. Workshops offered were drawing, printing, digital art, portraiture and colour work, and finally a session at M-Sparcs Ffiws maker space in Bangor. Work was exhibited in Galeri alongside artwork made by participants in Llwybrau Celf Uwch workshops.

r o f t f a r C g n i e b l l e W Craft for Wellbeing sessions have been popular since they began prelockdown. We’ve started a new series of six session in Caernarfon. Lora Morgan has been guiding the group through the different craft making which include macramé feathers, flowers pots in a Frida Khalo design as well as Christmas items. The group have enjoyed meeting in CARN, learning new crafts while socialising over tea and cake. The next series will take place in Congl Meinciau in Botwnnog, starting in January. The six sessions will be bi-weekly and are open to anyone 18+. To register, please e-mail ffionstrong@gwynedd.llyw.cymru.

r ’ i h t r o P e r D During the Summer 2023 holidays, art workshops for children were organized in Porthi'r Dre by CARN. Over 5 weekly sessions the children had the opportunity to try different types of art. Almost 50 children had the opportunity to take part over the 5 sessions. Following on a session was organized during the Autumn half term by CARN. There were 2 sessions during the day to enable more children to participate. After the sessions each child received an art pack so that they had the opportunity to continue with their art work. The October session and the art packages were funded by Cyfuno.

l e i r O y t y b Ys d d e n y Gw For our second exhibition this year at Oriel Ysbyty Gwynedd we have been deligted to display work by local artists Menai Rowlands and Ffion Pritchard. Menai and Ffion are part of the CARN artistic network and gallery run by a group of artists based in Caernarfon. They often make work that relates to mental health, concerns and the state of society in general. You can see their work on Instagram @meni.designs.dyluniadau and @ffionartist. If you are a community group or an artist and would like to propose an exhibition idea for Oriel Ysbyty Gwynedd please get in touch with us by emailing celf@gwynedd.llyw.cymru.

'Mwy' (more) is a creative, participatory project for women of all ages in Caernarfon to promote the Welsh language. In partnership with Porthi Dre, 30 creative workshops are being held between April 2023 and March 2023 for free with an offer of a hot meal at the Porthi Dre community hub. Creative practioners Sioned Medi Evans and Iola Ynyr are collaborating face-to-face and online with the community, Sioned bringing visual, historical and digital art skills, Iola specialising in creative writing, working with vulnerable communities and creating artistic installations and experiences. 'Mwy' is bringing creative ways to consider significant moments in women's lives from the teenage years, menstruation, contraception, birth, raising children, choosing not to be a mother, the menopause and loss.
