1935 Chevrolet Standard Restored by the grandson and grandfather team of Mitch and Sel King, Sel brought this baby 21 years ago. It took the two of them 12 years to restore the vehicle before it was back on the road in 2010. It has an original engine 181 cu in (cubic inch) engine with a three-speed crash box all fully rebuilt. Mitch said, “Parts came from as far away as the USA as we wanted it fully original. The interior metal work is hand painted for
wood grain effect with interior trim which was done in Molong. “We had a full bare-metal respray, there was not a bolt left untouched. With thanks to Stuart Blowes and Pat West and many others for their help.” If you’d like to see your pride and joy featured on the cover of our Wheels section, please contact the office on 6361 3575 or email reception@oclife.com.au
5 MINUTES WITH.... David Tandy
Store Manager at Autobarn Orange What range of products does Autobarn carry? Anything for your vehicle, spare parts, we can pretty much rebuild a car for you and if we don’t have it in stock, we can get it overnight for you. We have Opposite Lock in the store as well, that’s four-wheeldrive specialists, so anything for your 4WD we can do! What services do you provide in store? Everything we sell, we can fit. So bullbars, windscreen wipers, seat covers, roof racks, suspension kits — we fit them free for you. You carry a large range of oils in store. How important is the choice of oil for your vehicle?
You need to look at the specifications for that vehicle and make sure you get the right oil, you shouldn’t mix oils. Our computers are set up for the customer to use, put in your make and model and it will tell you the right oil for the right brand. Similar to coolant; you shouldn’t mix coolant either. What are some of your most popular products? Roof racks. We sell and fit quite a few of the Rhino roof racks. And stereos as well, that is one of our main lines. Any major stereo we can fit it to your vehicle — make and model doesn’t matter, we have got all the facia kits and wiring harnesses to suit your vehicle. Any products you would recommend for people heading off on a road trip? DVD players, if you’ve got children. DVD players, especially in the head rest, are still very popular. APRIL 12–18, 2018
