Only Make Believe is thrilled to be ON BROADWAY for our 25th Annual Gala. This year’s Only Make Believe Founder's Award honoree is Sam Khichi, Executive Vice President, Chief Policy Officer and General Counsel, CVS Health®

Join us as we celebrate those who inspire us with their dedication to philanthropy, and as we raise funds to support our interactive theatre programming in hospitals, care facilities, and schools through special education programs. Only Make Believe's annual gala has earned the reputation of being New York’s most entertaining and unique charity event of the season!

This incredible event will kick off with 80 minutes of spectacle on Broadway, followed by a VIP after party.

Sam previously served as a reserve officer in the active-duty field artillery officer in the United St House Fellow appointed by President George W. Bush. He earned a bachelor's degree in business from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and a master's degree in business administration from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management Executive MBA Program.

Impact

All funds raised through our Annual Gala will support

Only Make Believe, a nonprofit organization that creates interactive theatre in hospitals, schools, and care facilities, free of charge to every family, and child.

Inspiring joy and imagination, our professional actors engage children with medically fragile conditions and developmental disabilities, fostering social and emotional growth.

Only Make Believe started performing our interactive shows in one hospital in 1999, and today, we partner with more than 70 hospitals, care facilities, and special education programs in 16 cities, reaching a milestone of serving more than 100,000 children! We need your help to serve even more.

OMB has made tremendous efforts over the past several years, returning to in person programming in over 75% of our partner facilities in NYC, DC, and Philadelphia while building a robust virtual program in major cities across the nation.

Seeing one of our less verbal students walk onto the stage and communicate with the actors to participate in the performance was a huge highlight. We had so much fun bringing OMB back in person. The students were extremely engaged and the staff had a blast as well. We love OMB!

Only Make Believe is fully committed to providing a safespace for all children to feel empowered as we develop new plays that center on our values of inclusiveness, quality, participation, openness, and play. Our goal is to reach as many children with disabilities and medically fragile conditions as possible across the nation.

Only Make Believe programs remain FREE of charge to all families and children we serve. Our programming strives to be inclusive and accessible from creation to implementation. Children become the STARS of each show and can participate by creating characters, choosing their favorite costume, or by tapping and clapping along to their favorite tunes.
