THE IMPORTANCE OF EFFECTIVE AND SAFER TRAINING Health and Social Care workers are at high risk of work-related lifting and handling injury. The daily tasks carried out can lead to repetitive strain or acute injury if not performed correctly. *In the UK alone in 2020, The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) report 82,000 non-fatal injuries to workers of which 33% of these involved over three days and 26% over seven days absence. They also reported an estimated 63,000 work-related cases of musculoskeletal disorder (new or long-standing), which accounts for
approximately a third of all ill health in this sector. This is statistically significantly higher than that for workers across all industries. In the European Union Occupational Health Agency Survey (2014), the percentage of workplaces in the human health and social work sector reporting the presence of workplace risks from lifting/moving was 59%. These statistics are closely echoed worldwide and this is why effective training is so important.

MOVING & HANDLING MANIKINS FOR MOVING AND HANDLING TRAINING PATIENT HANDLING MANIKIN Minimise the risk of staff injury through effective and ongoing patient handling training. This is a popular and versatile manikin for all Health and Safety training, including early mobilisation and working with lifting, transfer, or evacuation equipment. It has been designed and tested with moving and handling coordinators and occupational therapists to ensure it is suitable for most patient handling training.
BARIATRIC MANIKIN Obesity is a growing problem around the world and health and care workers must be able to safely manoeuvre larger people. Our Bariatric range includes manikins at 90, 180 or 260kgs, with the 90kg manikin being the perfect choice when you require a dummy with bulk, but without too much excessive weight. Supplied with a carry sheet with safe working load of 600kg (LOLER certified).

MANIKINS FOR EMERGENCY EVACUATION TRAINING CHILD MANIKIN If you are involved in paediatric care with children or young people who suffer from mobility problems, training with a manikin can be the ideal way to learn essential moving and handling skills safely for a child who is unable to assist you. Our Child Manikins are available in two weights and sizes. The Baby Manikin weighs just 5kg and the Toddler Manikin weighs 10kg.
EMERGENCY EVACUATION MANIKIN Any residence which houses many people has an obligation to create an emergency evacuation plan. All staff should be trained to carry out your plan, using different scenarios. This will ensure success when it matters most and minimise the risk of injury to staff or residents though poor preparation. Our Emergency Evacuation manikin is 25kg, so easily transported between sites and it is constructed from an antibacterial and fireretardant material.

MANIKINS FOR MENTAL HEALTH ESTABLISHMENTS PMVA MANIKIN The PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) Manikin was designed in collaboration with a leading secure hospital, specialising in physical intervention training aimed at reducing the escalation of violence in mental health establishments. LIGATURE TRAINING MANIKIN This manikin was developed in conjunction with a leading healthcare trust in the UK for the training of professionals who may need to manage ligature hanging. This manikin has anatomical features which allow you to practice airway management skills, with the hope of reviving someone who has been found hanging.
